The impact you’ll make
As the Regional Indirect Procurement Category Lead at Lam, you will lead the category management, strategic sourcing and procurement of indirect goods and services on a regional basis, including across multiple sites, countries and/or regions. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes and achieve cost savings. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness of indirect procurement to maintain Lam's competitive edge. Your leadership will be crucial in navigating a dynamic environment and supporting the company's strategic goals.
What you’ll do
- Develop and Implement Strategies: Create and execute regional procurement strategies for indirect categories such as IT, HR, construction management, facilities, lab equipment, gases, chemicals and professional services.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Foster strong supplier relationships and drive supplier performance.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for long-term and blanket contracts with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Spend Analysis: Conduct thorough spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier relationships and procurement activities.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, savings, and performance metrics.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect categories.
- Supplier Management: Ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability of suppliers.
- Contract Negotiation: Secure favorable terms and conditions in supplier contracts.
- Spend Analysis: Identify cost-saving opportunities through detailed spend analysis.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Align procurement strategies with internal stakeholder needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Enhance procurement processes through best practices.
- Risk Management: Mitigate risks in supplier relationships and procurement activities.
- Reporting: Provide insights and updates on procurement performance.
- Team Leadership: Guide and develop a team of procurement professionals.
Who we’re looking for
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or related area with a preferred focus on indirect categories, including capital equipment, construction, gases and chemicals and at least 5 years in a leadership role.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Certifications:
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or PMP are highly desirable.

- Strong proficiency across the end-to-end procurement process.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence internal stakeholders at various levels of seniority.
- Fluent negotiation skills and confidence in managing high-value, high-impact supplier relationships.
- Experience applying procurement governance, standards, and policies (e.g., SOPs, compliance frameworks).
- Solid understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements in a global setting.
- Strategic mindset paired with strong analytical thinking, business acumen, and decision-making skills.
- High resilience and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, international business context.
- Change management awareness and willingness to foster a culture of performance, ethics, and collaboration.
- Fluent English is a must; additional languages, including Mandarin are an asset.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
