The impact you’ll make

As a MES Developer at Lam, you will play a critical role in enabling advanced manufacturing workflows, experiment tracking, and data orchestration across Lam’s Global R&D labs (KTC) in the South Korea. You will design, extend, and optimize MES capabilities using the Critical Manufacturing MES platform, delivering both front‑end user experiences and back‑end business logic that support rapid tool development and engineering experimentation.

Your expertise will help streamline R&D operations, improve traceability, and integrate MES with equipment, sensors, and automation systems. By building robust, scalable, and intuitive MES modules, dashboards, workflows, and services, you will accelerate technology development cycles and enhance data visibility for process engineering teams. Your contributions will directly support Lam’s next‑generation semiconductor tool innovations.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for enhancements and new products.
  • Implement new customer requirements and features in our existing application.
  • Maintain and enhance existing code base by investigating and resolving problem areas.
  • Demonstrate solutions through clear documentation, flowcharts, and well-structured code.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to design and develop software programs.
  • May visit customer site to provide support and have ability to travel (total is less than 10%)

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with 3+ years of MES or full‑stack software development experience; or equivalent technical background
  • Hands-on experience developing within the Critical Manufacturing MES platform, including module configuration, workflows, and data modeling
  • Strong proficiency in front‑end development (Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS)
  • Solid experience in back‑enda development (C#, .NET, REST APIs, services)
  • Understanding of MES concepts such as material movement, work execution, data collection, genealogy, recipe management, and equipment integration
  • Familiarity with relational databases, SQL queries, and MES data structures
  • Experience connecting MES to equipment, automation systems, IoT devices, logs, or engineering data sources

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience designing UI/UX for engineering or industrial software applications
  • Understanding of R&D workflows, experiment management, or prototype‑level manufacturing flows
  • Knowledge of SECS/GEM, GEM300, EDA/Interface A, or tool automation standards (bonus, not mandatory)
  • Experience with message-based integration (MQTT, AMQP), IoT pipelines, or data ingestion frameworks
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices for MES (CI/CD, version control, environment management)
  • Knowledge of containerization or cloud deployment models (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong debugging skills for distributed systems, APIs, and MES functional flows
  • Ability to collaborate with geographically distributed engineering teams
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • Critical Manufacturing Front‑end Certification
    • Critical Manufacturing Back‑end Certification

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role.
