The Global EHS Sustainability Manager position will report to the Global Environmental Director within the Global Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team at Lam Research. This position provides strategic and technical leadership to corporate sustainability programs across Lam’s global sites. This role supports achievement of Lam’s 2030–2050 sustainability goals, ensures compliance with country and international environmental sustainability regulations, drives carbon accounting and reporting, and supports global ISO 14001 management systems. The position is a technical individual contributor role interacting daily with global EHS colleagues, site EHS teams, and business unit stakeholders.
What you’ll do
Environmental Sustainability Compliance and Reporting
- Monitor and develop compliance reporting methods, ensuring accuracy and alignment across the organization.
- Track relevant environmental regulatory updates and industry standard changes
- Support global locations with new or updated reporting requirements, ensuring continuity with corporate environmental reporting.
- Manage environmental sustainability data.
- Collect, validate, and aggregate sustainability data from all sites (e.g., Scope 1 & 2 GHG emissions, GHG, energy, water, waste) and enter into ESG platform.
- Manage updates to environmental data as new tracking requirements or methodologies emerge.
- Maintain and track corporate and site-based environmental goals and performance, including development of multi‑year roadmaps.
- Lead updates to the Greenhouse Gas calculator as required by product groups, evolving regulations, or new materials.
Training and Program Development
- Develop and deploy corporate environmental and sustainability training modules and materials.
- Lead corporate Digital Transformation projects focused on chemical management and environmental management systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Global Indirect Procurement to ensure transparency and tracking capabilities are sufficient for materials of concern (e.g., refrigerants).
- Support ESG, GWS, GLO, GSCM, and PGs with environmental projects, including carbon emission reduction, waste minimization, water savings, and energy efficiency projects.
Audits and Certifications
- Coordinate 3rd party validation of environmental sustainability data.
- Support external and internal EHS compliance audits and ISO 14001 certifications. Perform causal analysis and close applicable corrective actions and preventive measures.
Engagement and Culture
- Lead annual global Earth Month planning and communications.
- Coordinate the annual Environmental Stewardship Award program.
Who we’re looking for
Skills
This position is a technical individual contributor role and will interact daily with other EHS and business unit engineers and managers at manufacturing and R&D sites. As such, the position requires:
- Deep understanding of carbon accounting and other environmental-sustainability initiatives (RE100, Net Zero, GRI, CDP, S&P Dow Jones Indices, GHG Protocol).
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, influence, and drive results.
- Can recognize the need and effectively escalate in the event conflict or misalignment threatens the success of a project.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results
- Good organizational and recordkeeping skills.
- Strong computer literacy skills including mastery knowledge of Microsoft suite (excel, word, power-point) skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in environmental engineering, sustainability, or sciences required; Master’s degree or related work experience preferred.
- Extensive environmental sustainability and compliance experience.
- Professional Engineer or similar certification preferred.
- Fluent in English.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
