The Impact You’ll Make

This role in the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team is responsible for complying applicable local regulation and implementing the occupational health programs at the Lam Research, Korea Technology Center research and development (R&D) facility. This position provides strong technical support for the occupational health & hygiene programs including: General/pre/post assignment medical surveillance & consultation, Ergonomic evaluation, workplace exposure monitoring, chemical safety, first aid response, occupational health related trainings, standard/guideline/program development, Respiratory fit test/medical clearance, etc.

What You’ll Do

  • This position will be assigned as a site health officer (사업장 보건관리자) based on Korea regulatory requirement and the person should be competent to implement the requirements.
  • Site health program management development and implementation following local & Lam requirement including respiratory protection program, heat stress Management, confined space Management program, hearing conservation program, fit for duty or other occupational health or industrial hygiene related.
  • Manage and develop site occupational health examination program (Pre-post, After-post, Annual, General)
  • Manage and develop site workplace exposure monitoring program
  • Manage and develop site industrial/office ergonomic evaluation program
  • Monitoring and following up occupation health & industrial hygiene related requirements based on local regulatory, corporate or internation best practices.
  • Site MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) Management and training
  • Develop gas and chemical exposure medical treatment/first aid protocol
  • Occupational health & first aid training (CPR & AED training or health related)
  • Initiate and drive health promotion programs (ex, non-smoking, ergonomic, or other health & wellness related)
  • Health clinic room operation & Management including medical supply, first aid, treatment, stretching and health condition counseling for employees
  • Medical emergency response for an injured employee and providing a guidance for additional treatment or outside medical center
  • Case Management for injured employee including return to work evaluation
  • Establishment and operation of nationally designated infectious disease response Management system (ex. COVID-19)

Who We’re Looking For

  • Nurse certification and industrial hygiene engineer certification who are eligible to be designated as a Health officer under the Korea Occupational Safety & Health Act.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in occupation health, industrial hygiene or another related field.
  • About total 4-9 years relevant work experience in both nurse and/or a site health officer at hospital, company or health consulting agency.
  • Intermediate or above English speaking and writing ability.
  • Working knowledge of Korean occupation health & hygiene regulations and global best practices.
  • Self-starter with critical thinking, self-guide and educate skills. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills based on priorities with having proper sense of urgency.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skill, capable of working within cross-functional, multitask and external team. Good communication skills
  • Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization.
  • Must be comfortable working in laboratory, clean room, process facility and construction environments.
  • Proficiency at MS office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Another EHS related professional certifications such as occupational safety engineer, air emission, wastewater, dangerous goods, high-pressure gas, electrical safety, fire safety, radiation etc. are plus.
