The impact you’ll make

The Director of Sales for the SK hynix Account is responsible for leading Lam Research's deposition business strategy, customer engagement, and revenue growth within one of the company's most strategic semiconductor customers. This role serves as the executive sales leader for the deposition portfolio, driving business performance, customer satisfaction, market share expansion, and long-term strategic partnerships with SK hynix.

The successful candidate will work closely with Product Groups, Process Engineering group, Business Development, Customer Support Business Group (CSBG), Operations, and executive stakeholders to align business objectives and execute winning account strategies that support customer technology roadmaps and manufacturing expansions.

What you’ll do

Business Leadership & Strategic Growth

  • Own and drive the deposition business strategy for the SK hynix account.
  • Deliver quarterly and annual business commitments for bookings, shipments, revenue, and market share.
  • Develop and execute account growth strategies aligned with customer technology roadmaps and capacity expansion plans.
  • Drive adoption of Lam's deposition technologies across memory device generations and advanced process nodes.
  • Partner with Product Groups, Product Marketing, Business Development, and regional leadership to align strategic priorities and execution plans.
  • Lead executive-level customer engagements to strengthen long-term partnerships and identify new business opportunities.
  • Ensure account objectives and strategic initiatives are effectively communicated and executed across the sales organization.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with key customer executives, technology leaders, and procurement organizations.
  • Represent Lam Research at executive meetings, quarterly business reviews, technology roadmap discussions, and strategic account forums.
  • Proactively identify customer challenges and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop differentiated solutions.
  • Drive customer satisfaction while advocating customer requirements within Lam Research.

Financial Performance & Commercial Excellence

  • Own deposition revenue, bookings, profitability, and market share performance at SK hynix.
  • Partner with Business Development and Finance teams to achieve account gross margin objectives.
  • Lead commercial negotiations including pricing agreements, business terms, and contract discussions.
  • Optimize business performance through effective configuration management, forecasting accuracy, and order fulfillment execution.
  • Support accounts receivable management and ensure timely collection activities.
  • Manage account-related budgets, customer engagement activities, and strategic investment programs.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts and business reporting through AOP, QxR, and other management operating mechanisms.
  • Ensure operational KPI accuracy including revenue tracking, forecast accuracy, configuration changes, and customer demand planning.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment among Sales, Operations, Product Groups, and Customer Support organizations.
  • Identify and mitigate business risks while ensuring execution against customer commitments.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing sales team supporting the SK hynix account.
  • Conduct regular coaching, performance management, and career development discussions.
  • Foster collaboration across global and regional organizations to achieve account objectives.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, customer focus, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a senior leader within Lam Research Korea, contributing to broader business and organizational goals.

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline. 
  • 15+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including significant customer-facing leadership experience.
  • Proven track record managing strategic semiconductor accounts in deposition technologies and semiconductor manufacturing processes is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and executive-level customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of P&D and semiconductor manufacturing processes with emphasis on deposition technologies.
  • Proven people leadership and organizational development skills.
  • Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and customer relationship management capabilities.
  • Fluent English communication skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively in global and multicultural environments.

Preferred qualifications

  • MBA or advanced business degree.
  • Experience supporting memory customers, particularly SK hynix.
  • Experience in value engineering, cost optimization, and strategic pricing.
  • Advanced proficiency in business analytics and enterprise software tools.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor industry competitive dynamics and market trends.
