The Legal Group protects us against risks and provides the framework for our ethical and compliant global business practices, enabling Lam to effectively navigate the landscape of the semiconductor industry. Their global government affairs team is responsible for advocating on behalf of Lam with public policymakers.
The impact you’ll make
Manages legal business matters pertaining to the organization. Provides a variety of general corporate and commercial legal services to a number of in-house clients. Acts as advisor on legal issues involving the organization’s government and regulatory compliance. Reviews legal data and advises organization on appropriate legal action to be taken. Performs litigation on the company’s behalf or coordinates litigation and other legal matters handled by outside counsel. Demonstrates experience in general corporate matters, including corporate organization, securities compliance, drafting transactional documents, license agreements, employment law, immigration law, data privacy, risk management asset-backed financing, and contract management. Experience in trade secrets, advertising law, registration and other resolutions specific to the computer and technology industry as well as SEC reporting. Requires a law degree.
What you’ll do
We are looking for a highly motivated legal counsel to join our Korea legal team which provides general legal support for Lam’s commercial and operational activities in Korea. The role will report to the Korea Legal Lead and provide strategic legal support to regional management and operations, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk across various legal domains.
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of regional and cross-border commercial agreements including equipment sales, purchasing services, software licensing, subscriptions, confidentiality, data security and other common areas.
- Monitor legal developments in Korea and other assigned jurisdictions, ensuring timely communication and compliance follow-up.
- Provide strategic legal advice on corporate and commercial issues—including employment, intellectual property, data privacy, antitrust, and regulatory compliance—in close collaboration with other legal teams within the legal function, such as corporate legal, employment legal, IP legal, and ethics and compliance.
- Help develop and maintain standard templates, playbooks, and process improvements to enhance contract efficiency and compliance, and participate in developing and delivering such relevant training.
- Conduct legal research and prepare concise summaries on relevant laws and company policies.
- Liaise with internal business teams (procurement, compliance, finance, etc.) to ensure contractual alignment with corporate policies and governance standards.
- Support sales offices, manufacturing facilities and R&D center in various locations, including Pangyo, Osan, Hwasung, Dongtan, Icheon, and Yongin.
- Support contract management activities, including contract tracking, database maintenance, and lifecycle management in coordination with global legal operations.
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in law; admission to the Korean Bar (or eligibility for admission) preferred; common law jurisdiction acceptable with solid knowledge of Korean commercial law.
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience, ideally in commercial contracts or corporate law (internship experience acceptable).
- Experience with the Icertis Contract Management System or comparable contract lifecycle management tools is desirable.
- Familiarity with Office 365 and DocuSign e-signature software is preferred.

- 30% domestic and international travel required.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
