The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam.  

We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of the customer installed base performance; through the delivery of  products and services. 

 

The impact you’ll make

This position in customer technology management within Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) Upgrades & Metrology is to support the successful penetration of Lam’s metrology products.  

You will work with customers and engineering technologists on identifying customer metrology challenges, defining equipment hardware to meet these requirements; evaluating test data, and coordinating with process engineering teams to ensure compatibility of measurement methods.

Your expertise and knowledge play a crucial role in our customers success, making an impact on the next generation of semiconductor breakthroughs.

In this role, you will directly contribute to the Metior Product Line which supplies leading edge memory, advanced logic, specialty technologies (CIS/Power), along with increasing complexity in packaging applications.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate with Lam Account Teams to engage with customers to identify the applications of mass metrology and related techniques.
  • Support existing users in the characterization of measurement results, focussed on extending usage applications to enhance customer productivity.
  • Collaborate internally to plan, collect data, analyze results, and report on customer demos for existing process applications.
  • Partner cross-functionally and with customers and Lam technologists to understand roadmaps, process flow, inflection points, and business challenges.
  • Contribute to next generation product development and release activities supporting the semiconductor roadmap.
  • Provide leadership, clear direction, and customer guidance, to introduce and drive adoption of new technologies at customer sites.  Support execution of aligned customer activities, working closely with associated Account Team.

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or related field with 5+ years of experience; or a PhD with 3+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Customer interface experience
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis and problem-solving methodologies
  • In-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or other similar scientific computing language, and experience with statistical tools (JMP, Minitab, etc.)
  • Able to work in a clean room
  • Travel up to 25%

Preferred qualifications

  • Background in Semiconductor Processing techniques:
    - Etch (Reactive Ion Etching (RIE), Atomic Layer Etching (ALE), Deep-Si Etching)
    - Thin-film deposition (Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) or Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD)).
  • Experience in metrology techniques as applied in process analytics and/or process control.
  • Understanding of device manufacturing flow in Memory, Logic, or Advanced Packaging.
  • Experience working in a collaborative and matrixed environment with diverse teams, semiconductor customers, and/or partners
