The impact you’ll make
As a Process Manager in Lam Research’s Cleans Division, you will lead a team of engineers and technicians in developing, optimizing, and sustaining advanced wet clean processes for semiconductor manufacturing. You will play a critical role in driving innovation, improving product performance, and ensuring alignment with customer requirements and technology roadmaps.
What you’ll do
- Lead process development projects for wet clean technologies used in semiconductor fabrication.
- Manage and mentor a team of process engineers and technicians.
- Design and execute experiments (DOE) to evaluate and optimize process parameters.
- Collaborate with hardware engineering, product marketing, and customer support teams to define and deliver integrated solutions.
- Analyze test data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and propose improvements.
- Interface with customers to support demos, qualifications, and technology transfers.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, reduce cost, and improve reliability.
- Present technical findings and strategic plans to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Who we’re looking for
- Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field.
- Experience:
- 12+ years with a Master’s, or
- 15+ years with a Bachelor’s, or
- 8+ years with a PhD in semiconductor process engineering or related roles.
- Proven leadership experience in managing technical teams.
- Strong background in wet cleans, surface preparation, or related semiconductor processes.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred Skills: Experience with advanced cleans chemistries and equipment.Familiarity with semiconductor fab operations and customer engagement.Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, and root cause analysis.
What We're Offering
This position is subject to the Austrian Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in the occupation group G or H depending on educational background and expertise. A higher payment is negotiable depending on education, expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
