The group you’ll be a part of

 

The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

 

The impact you’ll make

Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia, web-based publications and user sites; may produce content for embedded user assistance technology. Conducts interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation. Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical and technical users. May document engineering processes and specifications. Recommends formats responsive to technical and customer requirements. Produces products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and edit clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical articles and procedures for internal and external audiences.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical writing teams to finalize technical content using Microsoft Word.
  • Ensure timely delivery and quality of technical documentation.
  • Gather information from engineering sources, validate accuracy and completeness, and incorporate it into technical content.
  • Participate in team meetings, provide status updates, and plan for future deliverables.

Who we’re looking for

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
    • Degrees in other disciplines (e.g., Engineering) are acceptable with demonstrated exceptional writing skills.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2 years of writing or editing experience (preferred but not required).
  • Skills:
    • Strong command of the English language (mandatory).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Attention to detail

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with tools such as:
    • SharePoint
    • SnagIt or equivalent
    • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, FrameMaker, Acrobat
    • DITA XML
    • Content Management Systems (CMS)
    • CorelDRAW
    • WebWorks
