The group you’ll be a part of

In Deposition Engineering’s Central Program Management team, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam’s deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.

The impact you’ll make

As a Technical Program Manager at Lam, you are not just overseeing projects – you’re orchestrating breakthroughs in support of obsolescence (OB) management and product regulatory compliance. You’ll lead cross-functional teams to manage projects and strategies across many product engineering groups, primarily for RF and RF sub-components, to minimize the impact of part obsolescence on Lam's. Your role is vital, owning projects from proactive risk discovery through solution proliferation.

What you’ll do

  • Lead obsolescence (OB) management projects and strategies across multiple product engineering groups, primarily for RF and RF sub-components, to minimize the impact of part OBs on Lam’s business.
  • Partner with supply chain and engineering to proactively identify future OB and shortage risks, including single-source parts and at-risk components, sources, and suppliers. Recommend solutions or investigations and keep risk parts out of new designs.
  • Partner with Deposition product and program management to align and execute on priorities.
  • Drive the OB response from supplier notification through closure. Gather replacement part data from suppliers, support supply chain design reviews, align alpha test plans with engineering, and manage OB details, plans, and strategy with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering management to ensure product-level adherence to global, industry, and customer-specific regulatory and compliance requirements. This includes managing design change projects, updating compliance documentation, and gathering and sharing information.
  • Manage other projects that impact multiple product lines in the Deposition Product Group.
  • Take ownership and accountability for the success of projects and cross-functional teams to ensure program schedules, performance metrics, and delivery meet business requirements on time and within budget.
  • Successfully navigate multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; or a PhD with 3+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of continuous improvement or technical program management.
  • Experience guiding cross-functional teams that include supply chain and demonstrating leadership and influence skills to deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills with the ability to present to audiences at all levels in the company.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in or knowledge of Semiconductor fabrication, Semiconductor Equipment Operations, or related industries is a plus.
  • Experience with component obsolescence management, supply chain risk management, or supplier change management, ideally for RF or electrical sub-components.
  • Familiarity with engineering change control and product-level regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of Program Management methods and experience in Product Development & Release (PDR) procedures.
  • Relevant project management certifications such as PMP, CAPM, Scrum Master, or PRINCE2.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma methodology or certification (Green Belt, Black Belt) is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall project methodologies.
  • Expertise with project management software and tools including MS Project, QuickBase, Office Timeline, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Change Management methodologies is a plus.
