The Suppply Chain Transition Manager owns end-to-end supplier transitions to ensure uninterrupted supply by aligning qualification timelines, supplier ramp curves, and demand profiles across multiple sources. This role is responsible for preventing supply gaps during transitions from incumbent suppliers to new suppliers by proactively managing the intersection of engineering readiness, supplier capacity, and demand requirements.

Scope & Impact:

  • Owns supply continuity across multiple suppliers during transition periods
  • Directly impacts line-down risk, customer delivery, and revenue protection
  • Manages complex multi-variable scenarios (capacity, qualification, demand) requiring real-time decision-making
  • Influences cross-functional teams without direct authority

What you’ll do

Transition Ownership (Primary Responsibility)

  • Lead execution of supplier transitions (Supplier A → Supplier B/C) across critical parts and assemblies
  • Develop and drive detailed transition plans, including ramp-down of incumbent suppliers and ramp-up of new suppliers
  • Ensure transition sequencing avoids supply interruptions and minimizes operational risk

Supply Continuity Planning

  • Develop integrated supply plans that align:
    • Qualification timelines (engineering, SQE, PRR/FAIR readiness)
    • Supplier readiness (capacity, yield, lead time)
    • Demand forecasts and variability
  • Identify potential supply gap windows and implement mitigation strategies
  • Continuously balance supply vs. demand across multiple sources during transition periods

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead coordination across Engineering, Supplier Quality, Planning, Procurement, and Operations
  • Align teams on qualification timing, production readiness, and supply availability
  • Act as the central point of accountability for transition execution across all stakeholders

Risk & Escalation Management

  • Identify and assess risks related to:
    • Qualification delays
    • Capacity constraints
    • Supplier performance and yield
  • Develop and execute mitigation plans, including:
    • Dual-source strategies
    • Inventory buffering
    • Temporary allocation or bridging solutions
  • Lead escalation management for high-risk transitions impacting supply continuity

Transition Tracking & Reporting

  • Track progress against key transition milestones and supply readiness metrics
  • Provide clear status visibility: On track / At risk / Supply gap risk
  • Communicate risks, mitigation actions, and decisions to leadership

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years of related experience; or 12 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience managing multi-supplier ramp transitions (dual sourcing, outsourcing, supplier changes)
  • Strong program management skills with ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Experience in semiconductor, capital equipment, or precision manufacturing environments
  • Ability to operate effectively in high-risk, ambiguity-driven situation
