The Group You’ll Be A Part Of
In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam’s etch and deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.
The Impact You'll Make
In the SEM Lab, we serve as the eyes of Lam’s process development teams. Our objective is to generate high-volume metrology data with rapid turnaround times, enabling more experimental iterations and accelerating time to solution.
What You’ll Do
This position is for a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) operator working a Monday–Friday afternoon shift, concluding before midnight.
- Operate a state-of-the-art TEM to image semiconductor samples.
- Protect customer intellectual property (IP) through procedure and vigilance.
- Receive and integrate feedback from imaging results to support continuous improvement in the sample preparation process.
- FIB sample preparation will be taken care of by other technicians before the samples reach you.
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in a physical science such as Physics or Chemistry with a minimum of 2 years of related work experience; or an advanced degree with no prior experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Candidates interested in continuing or advancing a career in electron microscopy.
- Individuals who view task repetition as an opportunity to iterate and innovate toward improved methods.
- Careful, detail-oriented observers.
- Eagerness to learn and openness to feedback.
- Willingness to work a swing shift as described above.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating HRTEM and S/TEM for imaging; ideal candidates will have performed semiconductor or materials imaging.
- Knowledge of the physics involved in FIB/SEM and TEM tools, including vacuum systems, voltage/current effects, and ion sputtering behavior.
- Experience in customer intellectual property (IP) protection and sample handling.
- Experience with TEM sample preparation using a FIB is preferred.
- Experience with EDS and EELS is preferred.
Our Commitment
We believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. By bringing unique individuals and viewpoints together, we achieve extraordinary results.
