The impact you’ll make

As a Mechanical Engineer within Fixture Engineering, you will lead the conceptual design and system architecture of custom tooling and fixtures that enable safe, efficient, and repeatable assembly and testing of semiconductor equipment. You will drive early phase problem definition and feasibility assessments, then guide and review detailed design work executed by internal engineering teams. What you’ll do

  • Mechanical Design Leadership: Lead the design, development, and deployment of mechanical systems, custom fixtures, and tooling for handling, assembly, and test of components and assemblies. 
  • Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Support the full product lifecycle: concept development, CAD modeling, engineering analysis, documentation, procurement, prototyping, and validation. 
  • Advanced Engineering Analysis: Perform detailed analyses including FEA, thermal, structural, vibration, and fluid/gas dynamics, as well as manufacturability assessments. 
  • Standards & Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with industry standards such as SEMI and GD&T, as well as internal design and safety guidelines.
  • Feasibility & Validation Planning: Develop and execute feasibility studies, test plans, and validation strategies. 
  • Cross Functional & Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, quality, and optimal cost.
  • Technical Communication & Documentation: Prepare clear technical reports, documentation, and design review materials to communicate intent and results.
  • Product Development Deliverables: Deliver essential product development artifacts, including FMEA, risk assessments, specifications, and test documentation.
  • Mentorship & Engineering Excellence: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to establishing and improving engineering best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with 8+ years of relevant industry experience. 
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., CREO, Siemens NX, Inventor, SolidWorks). 
Excellent communication and technical presentation skills. 
Hands-on design and experimental background supported by strong engineering fundamentals. 
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. 
Knowledge of industry standards (SEMI, ANSI, DIN) and best practices in GD&T and DFM. 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience designing production support equipment for semiconductors or other high-tech industries, including assembly fixtures, test stands, or handling solutions. 

  • Understanding of factory operations and production workflows, including ergonomics, maintenance, and design for manufacturability. 

  • Background in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments, particularly those involving custom tooling or capital equipment for new product introduction. 

  • Familiarity with engineering documentation standards.
