The impact you’ll make

Lam Research is seeking a Managing Director, Enterprise Data & Analytics to set and drive the strategic direction for how the company treats data as an enterprise asset. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) within Global Information Systems (GIS), you will define the vision and multi-year strategy for a unified, trusted view of Lam’s data across every part of the business and lead the organization that brings it to life.

 

This is a senior executive leadership role focused on direction and outcomes rather than day-to-day technology. You will shape the enterprise data strategy, establish the operating model and standards that govern how data is managed and used, and hold accountability for turning that strategy into measurable business value. You will build and lead the global organization responsible for delivering it and serve as the senior voice for data across the company.

 

What you'll own

  • The enterprise data and analytics strategy, vision, and multi-year roadmap.
  • A unified, trusted, enterprise-wide view of Lam’s data across all parts of the business.
  • The operating model, standards, and governance for how data is owned, managed, and used.
  • Data quality and trust, ensuring the information used for decisions is reliable, accurate, and complete.
  • Data security and appropriate, well-governed access to data.
  • Integration of data across systems and functions into a single, trusted source of truth.
  • Enterprise analytics and insight capabilities that turn data into business value.

What you’ll do

Strategy & Direction

  • Set and champion the multi-year vision and strategy for enterprise data and analytics, aligned to Lam’s business priorities.
  • Define how data should be organized, governed, and used across the enterprise to create a single, trusted view of the business.
  • Establish the principles, standards, and priorities that guide investment and decision-making.
  • Build the business case and secure executive alignment and funding for the data strategy.

 

Execution & Business Value

  • Translate strategy into a clear roadmap and hold the organization accountable for delivering it.
  • Ensure data and analytics capabilities are trusted, reliable, and continuously improving as an enterprise service.
  • Measure and communicate the business value delivered, and adjust priorities as the business evolves.

 

Governance, Trust & Organizational Leadership

  • Establish enterprise data governance, ownership, and stewardship, with clear accountability for data across the business.
  • Ensure data is trusted, secure, and accessible, and that insight is available to support decisions across the company.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global data and analytics organization.
  • Act as the senior executive voice for data, developing talent and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.

Who we’re looking for

  • 15+ years of progressive technology and business leadership, including significant experience leading enterprise data and analytics organizations at scale.
  • A proven track record of setting enterprise data strategy and delivering measurable business outcomes.
  • A deep understanding of how to govern, manage, and unlock the value of data as an enterprise asset.
  • Experience establishing the standards, operating models, and governance that make data trusted and usable across a large organization.
  • A demonstrated ability to translate strategy into execution and drive adoption at enterprise scale.
  • Executive presence and influence as an enterprise leader first and a technologist second, with experience building and leading high-performing global teams.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, or a similarly complex, highly regulated global operating environment.
  • A track record of leading enterprise-wide data strategy and transformation across multiple business functions.
  • Experience establishing enterprise data governance and stewardship across a large, complex organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree in a related field.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
