The Impact You’ll Make

Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer! We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design and development of power supplies for thin-film deposition. This role involves the creation, integration, and support of advanced power solutions for wet deposition products.

What You’ll Do

  • Subject Matter Expert in the plating circuit design, system operation, and interface for wet deposition products.
  • Develop efficient and cost-effective power supply solutions per stakeholder and design requirements.
  • Create functional specifications and requirement documentation packages to support development programs.
  • Create and execute test plans to characterize and validate power supply performance.
  • Develop models, simulation tools, and other predictive methods to reduce changes on subsequent design iterations.
  • Conduct testing, development, and debugging of power supply units.
  • Perform product verification and validation tests.
  • Actively engage with suppliers. Become a unit design and operational expert. Ensure reliability at the design level.
  • Product lifecycle management: Create part numbers, documents, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Develop reliability roadmaps and execute to meet requirements (HASS/HALT/MTBF targets).
  • Some travel as necessary. Supplier support and customer escalation.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 12+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 8+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of key components for switch-mode power supply circuits and topologies.
  • Experience in DC-to-DC high voltage and high-power design.
  • Detailed knowledge of flyback, forward, half-bridge, resonant converters, and control loops.
  • Familiarity with industry standards:
    • SEMI Standards
    • NFPA 79
    • ETL 61010/EMC 61326
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good understanding of firmware design for power supply requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in circuit operation and failure analysis.
  • Knowledge of industrial Quality Systems, Engineering Design & Documentation, Product Qualification, and Change Processes.
  • Experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly, inspection, and test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in power distribution and/or control system design of industrial manufacturing tools.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing and equipment.
  • Ability to define functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to create and implement test fixtures to verify and validate designs.
  • Ability to manage by influence.
