The impact you’ll make

The role will be responsible for all aspects of Business Compliance & Tax reporting for Lam Research Singapore, Lam Research Malaysia including Indirect Taxes (GST) for three entities, in particular the Singapore GST Compliance of the Lam Research International Sdn Bhd. In addition to the existing entities, the role shall support the compliance & tax of new business entities as created under the SEA business, e.g. Vietnam, Thailand, etc. Business compliance refers to statutory reporting, such as audits & tax including Corporate Tax reporting, Withholding Tax reporting, GST filing, Transfer Price matters of relevant entities. This position will report to the SEA Regional Controller.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for the management of Singapore GST compliance initiatives and reporting of the Lam Research International Sdn Bhd. This includes but not limited to initiatives such as the Singapore Major Export Scheme (MES), GST Certification Program such as the Assisted Compliance Assurance Program (ACAP), e-invoicing, etc.
  • Process improvements & internal controls to minimize scrutiny by authorities or risk of non-refunds.
  • Drive and manage all audits & SG tax queries for the 3 entities in the relevant aspects. Direct liaison with local Tax consultant on all tax matters.
  • Manage preparation of Singapore & Malaysia audits, income tax returns and indirect tax reporting.
  • Drive new initiatives for new SEA legal entity set up.
  • Liaise with Corporate Tax teams on regular requests, and to manage any change in Transfer pricing directions, as guided by Corporate Tax.

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Additional professional qualifications, MBA, ACCA, CPA, will be an advantage. 
  • Minimum 15 years of working experience in Finance with at least 10 years of experience in audit & tax governance, compliance, consulting, preferably with a large tax consulting firm or a large corporate tax department. Experience with the tax authorities would be an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with attention to details. Proven ability to collaborate across various functions and operations, especially in influencing solutions, process for compliance in operational tax such as GST, Withholding tax, etc.
  • Proven records in successfully managing tax audits are a must.
  • Strong communication skills in English - both oral and written. 

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in SAP preferred.
