The impact you’ll make
As a Regional Trade Operations Analyst, you are responsible for ensuring that shipping documentation for international and intra-European shipments fully complies with trade compliance regulations. You will review and control shipping documents for accuracy and completeness and play a key role in maintaining full compliance across the EMEA region.
What you’ll do
You will support internal audit functions related to import and export trade declarations and compliance protocols. This includes contributing to the planning, execution, and reporting of both internal and external trade compliance audits. You bring strong expertise in EMEA import and export regulations and work closely with customs brokers and authorities to ensure 100% compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee EMEA customs trade declarations, including post-entry reviews and export filing processes
- Review and monitor regional trade compliance measures and prepare audit reports identifying potential risks, deficiencies, and corrective actions
- Coordinate internal audit risk assessments (scope definition, audit scheduling, KPI monitoring, broker management, and collaboration with global teams)
- Hold regular meetings with customs brokers to review KPIs, risks, and regulatory changes related to EMEA import and export requirements
- Execute EMEA trade policies, procedures, and programs in collaboration with customs brokers, ensuring adherence to import/export SOPs
- Act as the single point of contact for EMEA customs brokers
- Control and approve import and export invoices
- Serve as subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders, including customs brokers and regulatory authorities
- Support preparation, management, and response to audits conducted by customs authorities
- Provide training and expertise to EMEA Spares, Logistics, R&D, and Field Operations teams on audit processes and trade compliance
- Communicate and collaborate closely with Global Trade Operations, Foreign Trade Management, and other functional teams to drive continuous improvement
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional customs brokers, logistics, and supply chain partners
Additional Responsibilities
- Organize and manage activities related to the flow of materials, products, services, and related systems information
- Support supply chain services, material flow, import/export licensing, product shipments, and third-party warehousing
- Act as a liaison between Field Service Operations and Trade Operations/Logistics teams
- Assist in the development of logistics plans, procedures, and cross-functional coordination
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience
- 7–10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in Trade Compliance, including import/export audit requirements
- In-depth knowledge of EMEA Customs Regulations and U.S. Export Administration Regulations
- Strong experience in international logistics and customs compliance
- Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Power BI
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); business-level proficiency required
- Additional language skills, such as German, are a plus
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, flexible, and eager to learn
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required
Preferred qualifications
- Trade Compliance-related certifications (e.g. Certified Customs Specialist, Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer) is a plus
- Experience with regional import operations is a plus
- Working knowledge of tariff classification is a plus
- Experience working with other government agencies is a plus
