The group you’ll be a part of

The Trade Operations Team in LAM is responsible for overseeing end-to-end customs operations and compliance activities for Lam Research Kulim (LMM KM), ensuring strict adherence to Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse (LMW) regulations, Customs requirements, and internal trade policies.

The impact you’ll make

This role provides supervisory leadership, operational guidance, and risk oversight to ensure smooth import/export clearance, accurate statutory reporting, and audit-ready documentation, while acting as the key escalation and coordination point with Customs authorities and internal stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  1. Oversee daily import operations by ensuring accurate HS Code classification and compliance with approved LMW A1 and A2 exemptions to enable smooth and timely customs clearance.
  2. Monitor, assess, and control customs compliance and clearance activities, proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and escalating significant exceptions to management in a timely manner.
  3. Review, validate, and ensure the accurate and on-time submission of monthly Customs Reports (M1 and M2) to relevant authorities and assigned customs officers.
  4. Supervise the preparation and timely submission of the annual Customs Report (M4) for LMM 1.1 Kulim in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Oversee and verify Return-to-Vendor (RTV) documentation from warehouse and operations teams, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to Customs approval applications (GPB AM and GPB 1).
  6. Supervise daily customs approval applications and maintain effective coordination with Customs officers to facilitate prompt approvals, resolve queries, and mitigate potential shipment delays.
  7. Ensure all Finished Goods (FG) direct export movements are reviewed and receive prior confirmation from Trade Operations before customs approval and shipment release.
  8. Control and authorize shipment movements by ensuring all transfers between LMM 1.1 Kulim and LMM Batu Kawan are properly reviewed and approved by Trade Operations prior to release.
  9. Provide regular reporting and escalation of customs compliance matters related to LMM 1.1 Kulim operations to site and regional management at Batu Kawan.
  10. Ensure full compliance with documentation retention requirements by maintaining accurate, complete, and audit-ready records for all LMM 1.1 customs movements, approvals, and reporting activities.

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience in manufacturing or high-volume trade environments.
  • Understanding of INCOTERMS and international shipping documentation.
  • Exposure to customs audit preparation or internal controls.
  • Have experiences on problem solving tools like 5why, PDCA.
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong leadership and team guidance
  • Open to learning and process optimization

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, International Trade, or related discipline.
  • 4–6 years experience in import/export operations or trade compliance.
  • Familiarity with Malaysia Customs procedures, LMW framework, and brokerage coordination.
  • Proficient in using/understanding DagangNet, and SAP systems.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to work independently.
  • Good communication and coordination skills to work cross-functionally.
  • Knowledge of Warehouse receiving and shipping process
