The impact you’ll make

As an Assembler, you play pivotal role in performing assembling related work on wafer fab equipment. This role will require the knowledge of computer-based instructions, hand tools and fixtures usage.

What you’ll do

  • Navigate computer-based work instructions to install parts and hardware using hand tools and fixtures if needed; on wafer fabrication equipment (WFE) in a manufacturing clean-room environment.
  • Work in teams to ensure workflow and production schedule is maintained.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness for changing priorities including rework requirements and NPI.
  • Ensure the correct parts are received & used for assembly processes.
  • Contribute to audits by conducting visual inspection, verifying checklists and performing leak checks as needed.  
  • Cross train to multiple work areas (e.g sub-assemblies to PMI, ship prep, etc)
  • Act as a buddy to junior Assemblers when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Consistently exhibit behaviours that aligns with Lam’s core values
  • Adhere to personal and product safety guidelines by:
    • utilizing appropriate PPE following clean room procedures
    • following Lockout Tagout policies and procedures (LOTO and ZEST)
    • utilizing fixtures (lift hoists, lift track, gantry cranes, lifting tool) to aid in the assembly of tools

Who we’re looking for

  • Minimum Diploma in any Engineering field
  • 2 - 4 years of related electrical and electronics assembly experience depending on level
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Flexible and responsive to changing priorities including but not limited to rework, overtime and potential limited travel to other Lam/customer facilities
  • Utilize computer-based data systems and applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Work 12hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment.
  • Squat, kneel, walk, climb, stand and operate in ergonomically- challenging positions for over 50% of time
  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Perform repetitive motions using hands and various hand tools
  • Distinguish between colours for wire identification
  • Use Hand Tools including but not limited to: Calipers, Circuit tester, Wrenches, Hoists, Ohm meters, Screwdrivers, Torque wrenches, Ladders/platforms, Snipping tools/cutter

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
