The group you’ll be a part of

Supplier Engineering Technology (SET) as part of Lam Supply Chain organization. The Manufacturing Part Quality Assurance (MPQA/IQA) team is part of SET under Lam Supply Chain organization. 

The impact you’ll make

Performs inspections, checks testing and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes. Carries out packaging line, manufacturing inspections and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials to ensure that company standards are met. Monitors critical equipment and instrumentation. May draft procedures and assist with validating or troubleshooting testing methods, including assays. May apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated.

What you’ll do

  • Under the direction of the LMM MPQA supervisor/manager, execute and continuously improve Lam’s MPQA business processes and best-known methods (BKMs)
    • Inspect parts to meet Lam specfications and drawings.
    • Use measurement equipment and handheld tools, confirm part measurements and adherence to Lam specfications and drawings.
    • Validate supplier QC/QA processes to meet Lam’s requirements, meeting part delivery and quality goals.
    • Work with suppliers and Lam engineers to identify the root cause of supplier quality issues.
    • Perform investigative measurement and analysis on non-conformance parts as and as needed.
  • Work with the global Lam MPQA team to improve processes and BKM’s to reduce customer and internal quality risks.
  • Initiate continous improvement activities within MPQA functions and eliminate non-value work.

Who we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 6+ years of related experience.
  • Minimum Diploma / Degree in Engineering.

Preferred qualifications

  • A good machine shop background working in QC with a good understanding of Quality Systems.
  • Good QC auditing skills and knowledge of good manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings per ASME Y14.5M-2009 and/ or ISO Geometrical Product Specifications (GPS) family of standards.
  • 3+ years’ experience programing in 1 or more of the following CMM’s;
    • Zeiss, Calypso, Curves
    • Hexagon, PC-DMIS, CAD++
    • Mitutoyo, COSMOS, MiCAT
  • Experienced using 3D CAD models and 2D drawings (Experience with MBD CAD and 3D PDF a plus)
  • Experience using and understanding the following basic metrology equipment;
    • Surface Profilometer
    • Optical comparator
    • Microscope
    • Micrometers/ Calipers
    • Dial Test Indicators
    • Surface gaging instruments

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role.
