Evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Defines vision, strategies, and tactics. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
What you’ll do
The Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) is one of the fastest growing businesses at Lam, driven by Lam’s strong market share in semiconductor equipment, and the longevity of its systems in mature fabs. The Services Product Line is a linchpin of CSBG’s revenue, achieving a multi-billion dollar revenue stream, with significant year over year growth.
This role will fill a critical need for a Business Development Manager in the Services Product Line (Spares & Service), working closely with key accounts to develop strategic business proposals, defend Services market share (including Spares and Service) and grow revenue & profitability. The role is highly cross-functional, representing the interests of the account, both within CSBG and with the Product Groups, from the time of Beta release and throughout the Product Lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities
Customer Strategy Development
· Key driver in developing by-customer Services strategies and objectives for business growth and market share defense in partnership with global and regional account teams.
· Work with regional teams, CSBG product lines, and Product Groups to successfully implement strategies with all available Services product segments to maximize customer value and ROI for Lam.
Gatekeeper for Revenue and Profitability
· Develop and monitor revenue, profitability, and market share metrics for the Services business at your customer, by fab and by product family.
· Evaluate customer’s operating expense on Lam tools and develop commercial deals and contracts tailored to the business need, to deliver value to the customer and profitable growth to the Services business.
· Own the alignment of region, CSBG, and PG on market share and profitability objectives and drive actions to achieve those objectives, via regular account review meetings.
· Ensure that Services Products are accurately priced for the value delivered to the customer.
Responsible for Resolution of Services Issues at Key Accounts
· Primary advocate for CSBG field personnel and customers on Services issues. Responsible for recruiting support and resources within CSBG to resolve issues at the customer.
· Work with Product Marketing to develop and deliver value-selling collateral for Services.
Who we’re looking for
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree or higher in STEM subject and 8+ years Semiconductor Industry experience.
· Familiarity with one or more families of semiconductor equipment, in either deposition or etch
· Excellent collaborator & communicator, forms cross-functional partnerships to get things done
· Competence with data analysis in Excel involving large data sets
Preferred qualifications
· Prior experience in business development, customer strategy and/or commercial deal creation
· Ability to lay out clear messages and value propositions in clean and concise collateral
· Familiarity with semiconductor after system sales businesses

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
