Instructions

Lam Research is looking for an experienced Materials Management, Logistics, or Customer Service specialist to enhance the regional capabilities of the Asset Recovery department within the Global Spares Operations (GSO) team.

As a Reverse Logistics Specialist at Lam, you'll orchestrate and streamline material flow, ensuring efficient reverse value chain operations and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Your role encompasses a broad set of responsibilities, including supply chain services, inventory control, and ensuring critical parts availability through enterprise warehouse and inventory systems. Your expertise will be pivotal in optimizing Lam's reverse logistics plans for seamless operations.

The impact you’ll make

The Regional Return Logistics Specialist is responsible for executing and coordinating return logistics activities across a defined country or region within Lam’s reverse value chain. This role supports a hub‑and‑spoke operating model, managing material flows from customer fabs through company depots and onward to qualified repair partners, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of returns.

The position plays a critical role in managing routine maintenance returns as well as prematurely failed components requiring investigation and repair. The specialist works closely with internal stakeholders—including Field Service Engineers (FSEs), Account Teams, and regional warehouse operations—as well as external partners such as customer warehouse teams, third‑party logistics providers (3PLs), and repair vendors.

This role requires strong operational discipline, effective cross‑functional coordination, and the ability to manage transactional complexity across systems and stakeholders, while contributing to continuous improvement of return flows, cycle time, and asset recovery performance.

Job Responsibilities

· Execute and coordinate end‑to‑end return logistics activities, including return authorization, documentation, transportation coordination, receipt, triage, and routing to repair or disposition

· Own regional execution of Return Automation Management (RAMs) processes, ensuring accuracy, policy compliance, and timely closure

· Coordinate material movement across customer fabs, company depots, repair partners, and 3PLs, resolving issues that impact cycle time or service commitments

· Partner closely with Field Service Engineers, Account Teams, and customer warehouse teams to ensure smooth handoff and visibility of returned materials

· Ensure accurate and timely system transactions related to returns, inventory movements, credits, debits, and repair statuses

· Monitor and manage return cycle time, backlog, aging inventory, and exception queues, taking proactive action to address delays

· Serve as the regional point of contact for return‑related exceptions and escalations, including missing paperwork, shipment discrepancies, damaged returns, or disputed credits

· Support adherence to hazardous materials and regulated materials requirements, working in alignment with corporate compliance and EHS frameworks

· Contribute to root‑cause analysis for repeat failures, return process breakdowns, or recurring customer issues

· Identify opportunities for process standardization and continuous improvement across depots, partners, and stakeholders

· Maintain and update regional SOPs, work instructions, and reference documentation related to return logistics

Who we’re looking for

· Solid understanding of reverse value chain and service supply chain operations

· Strong execution skills in logistics coordination, documentation, and transactional accuracy

· Experience working with multiple third parties (customers, 3PLs, repair vendors) in operational flows

· Knowledge of ERP‑driven return, inventory, and repair processes

· Ability to manage high‑touch exceptions and drive resolution across organizational boundaries

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic operating environment

· Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interface professionally with customers and internal stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

· Experience supporting semiconductor, high‑tech, advanced manufacturing, or capital equipment environments

· Familiarity with hazmat handling, regulated materials, or environmental compliance in a logistics context

· Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies

· Experience working in a regional or global operating model with standardized processes

· Strong analytical skills, including Excel or reporting/dashboard tools

· Understanding of operational process flows and business factors in end-to-end value chain activities
