The impact you’ll make
The Facilities Engineering function is responsible for engineering activities within the firm to ensure that business objectives are met. Includes the creation, development, design and improvement of semiconductor R&D cleanroom and manufacturing facilities as well as office building infrustructure, services, standards and procedures in all facilities engineering disciplines.
Position Responsibilties
Responsible for Mechanical Infrastructure Systems at the Taiwan Technology Center. Core mechanical systems of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Design, develop, and update mechanical facility systems (HVAC, piping, exhaust, utilities).
- Prepare and release engineering drawings, P&IDs, and BOMs.
- Select mechanical components and materials for system designs.
- Conduct system analyses (flow, pressure, load) and support capacity studies.
- Lead or participate in mechanical design reviews.
- Support construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain as-built documents and mechanical system records.
- Improve system reliability, efficiency, and overall performance.
- Develop SOPs and provide technical training.
- Manage contractors and external service providers.
- Lead/support energy‑efficiency projects (e.g., VFD, chiller optimization).
- Perform FMEA during project design phases.
- Manage CapEx and OpEx budgets
Who we’re looking for
Typically requires Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience
Knowledge and Skills required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Familiarity with international mechanical and facility standards (e.g., ASHRAE, ISO) as well as Taiwan’s local regulations
- Experience working with government and regulatory agencies
- High proficiency in designing and analyzing mechanical systems such as HVAC, chilled water, cooling, and process exhaust
- Working knowledge of mechanical components and control systems including instrumentation, valves, pumps, and fans
- Expertise in applying mechanical and utility system control logic within automated systems
- Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and piping/hydraulic system design
- Experience collaborating with insurance organizations (e.g., FM Global) to meet facility reliability standards
- Experience using mechanical system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., CAD)
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical and safety-related codes such as ASME
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience leading technical projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, and internal/external partners
- Strong project management, communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Experience in subsystem/module design projects in industries such as process equipment, mechanical systems, automation equipment, heavy machinery, automotive, aerospace, etc.
- Comfortable with business travel
- Practical experience with MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Project)

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
