The impact you’ll make
The Facilities Engineering function is responsible for engineering activities within the a firm to ensure that business objectives are met. Includes the creation, development, design and improvement of semiconductor R&D cleanroom and manufacturing facilities as well as office building infrustructure, services, standards and procedures in all facilities engineering disciplines.
Position Responsibilities
Responsible for Taiwan Technology Center gas and chemical infrastructure systems. Key systems include: Bulk Gas Yard (N2, O2, Ar, He, H2 etc.), Gas & Chemical equipment (Gas cabinet, VMB, Liquid Delivery Cabinet etc.), Waste Water System, Main Wet Scrubber system, Ultra-Pure Water System
Gas & Chemical systems core responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Design, develop, and modify gas and chemical systems
- Review and evaluate new gases and chemicals, including stability and reactivity assessments
- Review equipment specifications and oversee installation for gas/chemical-related systems
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and apply them at the site level
- Develop, create, and update SOPs for gas and chemical operations
- Analyze system issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Conduct design reviews for gas and chemical applications in new tools and equipment
- Manage capital and expense projects related to gas and chemical systems
- Maintain load/capacity reports and forecast gas/chemical usage and infrastructure load growth
- Drive system improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and uptime
- Create and release engineering drawings and bill of materials through the engineering change process
- Evaluate the impact on treatment processes through analysis of wastewater composition, including metals, fluoride, organics, pH, and total toxic organics (TTO)
- Operate and manage wastewater treatment systems in compliance with local environmental regulations and discharge permit requirements
- Perform capacity and load analysis for wastewater treatment systems and storage tanks, and forecast long-term load growth
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for wastewater treatment system upsets and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Review abatement equipment specifications and manage installation, upgrades, and replacement activities
- Support abatement system performance evaluations and efficiency testing, including emissions measurements
Who we’re looking for
Typically requires Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Chemical engineering or similar and a minimum of 12 years of related experience
Skills and knowledge required
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
• Familiar with IEC standards and Taiwan local regulations
• Experience working with government agency
• Experience in the design and engineering of gas and chemical distribution systems.
• Experience working in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing facility infrastructure environment.
• Knowledge and experience in industrial wastewater treatment processes, including chemical treatment, biological treatment, and compliance monitoring.
• Understanding of environmental regulations related to wastewater and emissions compliance.
• Experience with process safety assessments such as HAZOP or chemical hazard evaluation.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
