The group you’ll be a part of

The Corporate Strategy Group charts our course for long-term profitable growth. This team drives Lam in the development of and alignment to our strategic priorities and key initiatives. Additionally, they oversee Lam's Corporate Development team and Lam Capital, which makes investments that help fuel technologies of the future.

The impact you’ll make

As a member of the Lam Corporate Strategy team, you will be responsible for orchestrating projects that drive growth in support of Lam’s corporate objectives. You will lead the investigation and evaluation of new strategic business opportunities and initiatives, such as eco-system collaborations, mergers & acquisitions, joint development, and unique supply chain partnerships. You will drive deal strategies and tactics and work in conjunction with internal stakeholders at the Corporate and Product Group executive levels. As part of this role you will provide market and competitive intelligence that helps in strategic decision making and provide leadership in the development, diligence, and execution of strategic business opportunities and be effective working with other team members to ensure success.

What you’ll do

  • Examine market data to detect trends/opportunities/threats, form strategic direction based on market information, and prepare persuasive market analysis presentations in the semiconductor, software, advanced materials, and manufacturing sectors
  • Lead internal cross-functional deal teams including technology, engineering, and corporate stakeholders to identify strategic alignment and opportunities with potential partners
  • Lead and conduct due diligence on potential deals, including financial, legal, technical, and operational aspects
  • Perform detailed valuation and financial analysis and build models for mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and other deal negotiations
  • Present business or marketing opportunities to company leaders and managers
  • May perform make-versus-buy analysis from a partnership/merger/acquisition perspective
  • Lead deal negotiations drawing on demonstrated experience and expertise including M&A, in-licensing, technology and product joint development agreements (JDA), and unique supply chain partnerships
  • Cultivate an attractive pipeline of opportunities for management evaluation

 

To Be Successful, You Will Need

  • Strong understanding of strategy fundamentals and frameworks, combining strategic acumen with curiosity
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate and deliver results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills when working across geographies, disciplines, and levels
  • Exceptionally strong personal initiative, business instincts, and comfort with high levels of ambiguity

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent experience.  MBA, Advanced Technical or Engineering degree strongly preferred
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience in a similar role, ideally in the semiconductor industry
  • Total relevant industry experience of at least 15 years
  • Prior experience in a technical or engineering role is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate development, corporate strategy or management consulting with deal negotiation experience
  • Strong financial analysis and financial modeling skills, as well as proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Self-Starter, Creative and flexible problem solver who can cope with ambiguity and uncertainty

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

 

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $155,000.00 -  $324,000.00.

 

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
