The impact you’ll make

Oversees the planning and controls the flow of materials, products, services and related systems information from point of origin to point of delivery. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to supply chain services, inventory control, or critical parts availability, material handling, import-export licensing, third-party warehousing and shipping/receiving activities. Develops and implements logistics plans, budgets, and procedures to maximize compliance with customer needs within budget constraints. Provides financial reporting and reconciliation of inventories. Exhibits thorough understanding of international Letters of Credit and other forms of banking documents and international shipments. Interacts with vendors and peers in Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, and Product Development personnel to optimize systems and procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

What you’ll do

Daily Operations Management

  • Oversee day-to-day inbound, outbound, and shuttle transport operations across MY–SG and domestic lanes.
  • Manage scheduling, pick‑ups, vehicle planning, and carrier dispatch to meet OTD targets.
  • Validate all shipping documents (CI/PL, permits, packing lists, DG documents, etc.) for accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor small parcel, LTL, FTL, air freight, and ocean freight execution for assigned lanes.

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Supervise Transportation Analysts and provide daily work assignments, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Enforce standard work/SOP compliance.
  • Train team members on systems (TMS), documentation accuracy, safety, and compliance.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new team members.

Carrier & 3PL Coordination

  • Act as the main operational contact point for assigned carriers/3PLs.
  • Ensure compliance with SLA, cut-off times, and Routing Guide.
  • Manage same-day escalations (late trucks, missed pickups, delays).
  • Validate PODs, delivery confirmations, and resolve discrepancies.

Exception Management & Escalation

  • Own daily exceptions such as delays, capacity shortages, shipment holds, or incorrect documentation.
  • Apply predefined expedite rules and coordinate urgent shipments as needed.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrent issues.

Systems & Visibility

  • Use TMS/ERP to monitor shipment status and assigned carriers.
  • Monitor visibility dashboards to ensure milestone completeness (pickup, gateway, in‑transit, delivery, POD).
  • Support Freight Audit & Pay by reviewing freight bills and disputing incorrect charges.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track daily operational KPIs such as:
    • On-time pickup/delivery
    • Tender acceptance
    • Shipment exceptions
    • POD timeliness
  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting as required by Transportation Manager.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify day-to-day operational gaps and drive small to mid-size improvement activities.
  • Standardize SOPs, checklists, and work templates for consistent execution.
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement projects (supply chain, odder fulfilment, warehouse, trade compliance).

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2-4 years of supervisory experience.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
