In this role, you will provide technical expertise and leadership to a team of engineers in executing New Product Transfer (NPT) initiatives. You will ensure that products are designed for manufacturability and sustainability before transitioning to High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) and the sustaining organization. This position requires cross-functional collaboration to drive successful product transfers and address technical, quality, and production challenges. It also offers opportunities to develop excellence in both product design and manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a New Product Transfer manufacturing engineering organization in a dynamic, multi-product, multi-factory, global company
- Partnership across organizational functions to address technical, quality, and production challenges, drive impactful improvements during the New Product Transfer (NPT) phase, and identify opportunities to advance excellence in product design and manufacturing.
- Directs the development and implementation of activities in the production area(s) to achieve safety, quality, production goals, and cost objectives within a cross-matrixed and global organization.
- Enhance productivity by providing strategic leadership and support across personnel, processes, and technological initiatives.
- Maintains and improves factory processes and operating systems for the manufacture of wafer fabrication equipment including production efficiency, waste reduction, cycle times, capacity, manufacturing and design capabilities, and others as needed.
- Develop forecasts for resource allocation, capital expenditures, and other operational requirements to support all New Product Transfer (NPT) activities.
- Develop the productivity improvement strategy and workforce planning required to meet future workload demands.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or Mechatronic Engineering, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant management experience.
- Proven track record in New Product Introduction (NPI) and operations management.
- Strong foundation in design principles, with hands-on experience in lean manufacturing methodologies and Kanban systems.
- Ability to work in a controlled cleanroom environment, adhering strictly to gowning and PPE protocols.
- Solid understanding of industrial and manufacturing processes, human factors, and organizational behavior.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and processes under tight deadlines in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Etch, Deposition, and semiconductor capital equipment, with working knowledge of SAP manufacturing functions.
- Experience in forecasting and procuring capital equipment to support production capacity planning.
- Strong problem-solving skills, a continuous learning mindset, and sound decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
