What you’ll do

A Product Engineer 3 will support the development, industrialization, and high-volume manufacturing of electromechanical and robotic systems for worldwide deployment. This role serves as the primary technical liaison between suppliers and internal mechatronics design teams.This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical problem-solving skills, manufacturing expertise, and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders. This position requires approximately 40% travel to supplier sites across Malaysia.

  • Serve as the primary technical interface between suppliers and internal engineering teams.
  • Work closely with mechatronics design engineers to understand product design, functionality, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Support suppliers in transitioning products from development and qualification stages into high-volume manufacturing.
  • Provide on-site technical support, including system setup, process improvement, troubleshooting, risk identification, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements in quality, productivity, and process capability.
  • Ensure suppliers consistently deliver reliable products that meet engineering and business requirements.
  • Lead investigations of product, process, and manufacturing issues through root cause analysis, failure analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Apply SPC, DOE, FMEA, RCCA, 8D, and 5-Why methodologies to resolve quality and manufacturing challenges.
  • Identify and mitigate manufacturing, process, and quality risks to prevent recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, test, reliability, and supplier teams to resolve product and production challenges.
  • Participate in design reviews and support product qualification, production release, and manufacturing ramp activities.
  • Lead technical discussions and drive alignment between internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting electromechanical, mechatronic, automation, robotic, or precision mechanical products.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes is an added advantage.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers, contract manufacturers, or manufacturing partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis, failure analysis, troubleshooting, and solution development.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D Problem Solving and 5-Why Analysis.
  • Experience leading technical projects and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites across Malaysia.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with robotics, motion control systems, automation equipment, actuators, motors, sensors, or electromechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensional analysis, GD&T, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, production ramp-up, process development, and product industrialization.
  • Experience in semiconductor equipment, robotics, industrial automation, medical devices, precision manufacturing, or EMS industries.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and can work independently while influencing cross-functional teams.
