The impact you’ll make
As a Fixture Technician at Lam, you play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and readiness of manufacturing fixtures. Your responsibilities include sustaining and maintaining fixtures, preparing them for production, and driving continuous improvement through Kaizen activities. Your expertise in fixture engineering is essential for maintaining fixture availability and supporting smooth manufacturing operations.
In this role, you directly contribute to achieving production targets, upholding high quality standards, and enhancing operational efficiency. By optimizing jigs, fixtures, and related tooling assets, you help ensure product quality, improve manufacturing performance, and maintain a safe working environment. Your commitment to precision and problem-solving strengthens Lam’s engineering systems and supports the success of our manufacturing teams.
What you’ll do
- Responsible for manufacturing, altering, and repairing various tools, jigs, tooling and holding fixtures, and gauges.
- Responsible for repair and maintenance, and place order jig & fixtures for an assembly line.
- Execution fixture verification, validation, and deployment activities
- Perform daily inspection and periodic maintenance for all the jigs & fixtures in the plant.
- Prepare jig and fixture for manufacturing and coordinate with vendors for fixture-related activities.
- Troubleshoot when jigs & fixtures and related equipment break down.
- To change/replace any minor electrical and mechanical faulty.
- Familiar with assembly fixtures such as holding fixture, alignment tools and Gauges and transport fixtures.
- Maintain Fixtures, Fixture spare parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling fixtures, using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools; examining the form and texture of parts.
- Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by performing general housekeeping and complying with 5s, Loto, and safety standards.
- Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
- Involve in fixture maintenance and sustaining activities to ensure reliability and performance.
- Engage in Kaizen activities, including fixture design improvement and process optimization opportunities.
- Perform administrative duties related to fixture engineering such as fixture procurement & inventory list update.
- Create technical work instructions, including Maintenance WI and fixture WI.
- Work closely with fixture engineers on day-to-day task and project execution.
- Support assembly and testing of fixtures to ensure functionality.
- Perform all other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
Who we’re looking for
- Skilled troubleshooting capabilities and aptitude hands-on work in the areas of electrical, pneumatics and mechanical assemblies.
- Able to read, write and communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good communications and teamwork abilities.
- Able to work in an environment that require body movements in multiple positions.
- Able to work in 12 hours shift in fast-paced and time sensitive environment.
- Willingness to work flexible works.
Preferred qualifications
- Diploma in Mechatronic/Mechanical engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in fixture or maintenance related field.
- Familiar with machine process, 3D printing, sheet metal process, mechanical components and ability to read engineering drawings will be added advantages.
- Experience in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
