The impact you’ll make
As an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of material handling and automation systems, including ASRS, AGV, AMR, and MHE, that support daily manufacturing and logistics operations. Your work will directly impact system uptime, material flow stability, and overall operational continuity.
By supporting structured maintenance activities, monitoring system health, and driving continuous improvement initiatives, you will help reduce unplanned downtime, improve long‑term equipment reliability, and strengthen automation performance across the site. Your contributions will support safe operations, efficient material movement, and operational excellence.
What you’ll do
- Provide hands‑on technical support and troubleshooting for Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to ensure timely system recovery and minimal operational disruption
- Support scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed effectively and follow‑up actions are closed to improve system reliability
- Perform and maintain daily system health checks and checklists, identifying abnormalities early and escalating potential risks before they impact operations
- Support spare parts management by identifying critical spares, monitoring usage, and ensuring parts availability to minimize downtime
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and Lean activities, contributing to structured problem‑solving and long‑term performance improvements
- Work closely with others as needed to ensure automation systems operate safely, reliably, and in line with operational requirements
Who we’re looking for
- Hands‑on technician with ownership of automation system reliability (ASRS, AGV, AMR, and MHE)
- Practical problem solver focused on root cause and long‑term solutions
- Strong safety mindset, including LOTO compliance and safe work practices
- Team‑oriented, continuous improvement driven, and comfortable with Working at Height (WAH) activities
- Willing and able to work on shift schedules as required for operations support
Preferred qualifications
- Diploma or higher in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Automation / Mechatronics)
- 3–5 years’ experience with ASRS, AGV, AMR, or MHE
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience supporting PM, daily checks, and spare parts
- Exposure to Kaizen / Lean (Yellow Belt or Green Belt is a plus)
- Comfortable with Working at Height (WAH) activities

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
