The impact you’ll make

As a Tech 1 Automation / Material Handling Technician, you will support the safe and reliable operation of Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV), Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), and Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Your role helps ensure smooth daily operations by assisting with basic troubleshooting, routine checks, and maintenance activities that support material flow and system availability.

This position provides hands‑on exposure to automation systems while building a strong foundation in safety, equipment reliability, and operational discipline.

What you’ll do

  • Support basic troubleshooting and recovery activities for ASRS, AGV, AMR, and MHE under guidance
  • Assist with preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and routine inspections
  • Perform daily system checks and simple checklists, reporting abnormalities when identified
  • Support basic spare parts handling and preparation when required
  • Follow safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safe work practices
  • Learn and participate in continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen and basic problem‑solving

Who we’re looking for

  • A hands‑on, willing‑to‑learn individual interested in automation and material handling systems
  • Someone who values safety, discipline, and following procedures
  • A team‑oriented person with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Comfortable with Working at Height (WAH) activities when required
  • Willing and able to work on shift schedules as required for operations support

Preferred qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of experience are welcome
  • Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical systems is an advantage
  • Willingness to work in an operational / shopfloor environment

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
