Lam Research is a leading global manufacturer of capital equipment used in making leading-edge-semiconductors across the world. We primarily compete in four specific areas – deposition, etch, photoresist strip, and single wafer clean.

Many years back, Lam Research embarked on a journey to set up engineering center in Bangalore to expand its reach to Indian talent pool. Over the decade, this center expanded its capability and scope beyond engineering to global manufacturing, supply chain operations and other shared services. One of the major functional groups of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). LIGHT has completed more than a decade of growth and has emerged as a major new product development and sustaining engineering team for Lam’s global engineering footprint.

Engineering Information Systems is a centralized team and part of LIGHT. The charter of the group is to enable design teams across various Product Groups with productivity tools. This is a position at LIGHT in Bangalore, joining a team of experienced engineers working on design/CAD automation.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for management and release of CAD custom applications for the organization’s needs.
  • Prioritize, coordinate & support requirements and escalations from CAD users, product group, Engineering Leadership, and continuous improvement team.
  • Work with
    • vendors for scoping, resourcing, requirement discussions, project delivery, bug fixes and support.
    • Product Groups to identify requirements, prepare testing schedules and get feedback.
    • CAD Admins for effective rollout and maintenance of the applications.
    • Tech. writers and Engineering standards team to prepare and release any process changes, BKMs (Best known methods) and user manuals.
    • Technical experts and propose TAD (Technical Architecture diagrams) for software development programs.
    • Functional team to understand the engineering requirements, Develop Functional and Technical Requirement documents and translate the same to developers.
    • Developers for code review & ensure the coding & SDLC standards are followed through all phases.
    • Stakeholders to plan phase gate reviews (PDR/DDR/FDR) and get a signoff from business leaders
  • Provides update to management/ stakeholders regularly and share the learnings.
  • Explore opportunities to improve and optimize the process.
  • Is proficient in creating quarterly and sprint wise plans, and sprint delivery reports and can drive improvements on any deviations from set goals.

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4-6  years’ experience in end-to-end Project / Program management (initiation to implementation) of medium to complex programs involving productivity improvement and cost savings through engineering process automation.
  • Design and implement automation solutions using:
    • NXOpen (C#)
    • Creo Toolkit (C++/Java)
    • Teamcenter SOA / ITK / Active Workspace (C#/C++/Java/Python)
  • Strong knowledge in OOPS, Design patterns, Windows Forms & creating Architecture drawings.
  • Own end-to-end phased delivery of CAD automation programs across multiple product groups.
  • Manage risks, schedules and dependencies for automation initiatives

Preferred qualifications

  • Hands on Experience in CAD/PDM/PLM
  • SQL, webservices, XML Data Processing Cloud (Azure) knowledge & familiarity with azure services
  • Experience working with Generative AI.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
