The impact you’ll make

The OT System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining operational technology systems that support engineering OT lab and cleanroom environments. This includes configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting OT infrastructure to ensure system reliability, security, and compliance with corporate standards. The role also involves collaborating with BU, IT, and InfoSec to integrate OT systems with enterprise platforms and support business continuity.

What you’ll do

The OT System Administrator will manage and maintain operational technology systems that support engineering cleanrooms and laboratory environments. This includes ensuring system reliability, security, and compliance, performing configuration and troubleshooting, and coordinating with IT and operations teams for seamless integration. The role is essential for sustaining plant operations, minimizing downtime, and safeguarding OT infrastructure against cyber threats while supporting GIS strategic initiatives and modernization efforts.
  • Administer and maintain operational technology (OT) systems that support engineering labs and clean room environments.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot OT infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Implement and enforce security measures, including patching, access control, and compliance with corporate standards.
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to integrate OT systems with enterprise platforms and support digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for OT systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Provide technical support and incident response to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and modernization of OT environments.

Who we’re looking for

Preferred qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in OT or IT system administration within manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Hands-on experience with OT systems, industrial control systems (ICS), and SCADA platforms.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of networking, firewalls, and cybersecurity principles for OT environments.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and backup/recovery solutions.
Compliance & Security: Understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices for OT security.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across IT and operations teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
