The impact you’ll make

At Lam, as a Supply Chain Business Manager, you play a crucial role in partnering with suppliers to drive operational excellence. Your data-driven approach ensures effective planning, scheduling, and monitoring material movement through our dynamic global production cycle. You’ll benchmark and monitor supplier performance to manage risk. By driving continuous supplier process improvements you support the productivity and efficiency of Lam's operations.

Key Responsibilities of a Supply Chain Business Manager (SBM)

  • Act as the single point of contact with suppliers for allocated and constrained parts. All supplier prioritisation, build quantity, ship date, and recovery communications are coordinated through the SBM.
  • Identify and manage high-risk supply situations, provide accurate supply visibility, and support allocation decisions for critical material shortages.
  • Lead supplier recovery efforts and coordinate with Commodity Managers, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, and Operations to restore supply continuity.
  • Develop and maintain Supply vs. Demand (SVD) analysis, monitor supplier commitments, and drive execution against business requirements.
  • Lead supplier review, allocation, and playbook meetings, including escalation management for critical shortages and machine-down situations.
  • Drive sourcing and risk-mitigation strategies, including alternate-source qualification and supplier development activities.
  • Partner with Strategic Commodity Managers (SCMs), Supplier Engineering, Product Groups, and Purchasing teams to ensure supply continuity and operational performance.

Who we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
