This position will be based out of Bangalore, directly reporting into the leader of Supplier Quality Manager in India, and closely working with Global Supplier Quality. This individual would be responsible to manage Power Supply commodity supplier engineering tasks by working closely with suppliers and supplier engineering team in US and Asia region. The impact you’ll make

As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers’ locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.

What you’ll do

  • Managing assigned suppliers in Electronics & electrical commodities like Cable, PCBA's, Controllers, Sensors, Power supply to ensure expectations are met in terms of Quality and timeline.
  • Collaboratively work with suppliers and engineering groups on High-voltage Power Supplies and high-power analog power generation (RF and non-RF); this includes managing quality for existing designs (as interface between field teams, engineering teams, and suppliers).
  • Deep knowledge of PCBA, controllers, cables design and manufacturing.
    • Ability to work with the suppliers to understand how the designs will meet the specs and operate reliably in our environment: that implies ability to work with the design engineers and properly assess FMEA & influence their designs.
  • Evaluate internal and external non-conformances and take a lead in problem solving activities, drive root cause and corrective actions with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.
  • Assist supplier in preparing and implementing 8D (RCCA), First Article, Process of Record (like PPAP approach) and Problem Report (Supplier Deviations, Engineering queries) etc.
  • Basic Supplier Engineering activities, in order to sustain product lifecycle (change control, obsolescence management, Factory transfers, Quality paretos from failure analyses and managing product CIP); all of these involve active collaboration with our product groups to get those changes approved.

Who we’re looking for

    • Electrical Engineering with analog EE circuit design expertise
    • Working knowledge and understanding manufacturing processes of PCBA, cables, controllers  
    • General knowledge of systems Engineering basics, Electro-mechanical assembly and electronic components and thier integration.
    • Good understanding of DC power supplies, High-voltage Power Supplies, high-power analog power generation (RF & non RF)
    • Proficient in Problem solving tools like, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, cause and effect etc.
    • General knowledge of DOEs (Design-of-Experiments) and Gauge Studies, calibration practices, design-for-manufacturability, SPC and Cpk/Ppk expertise + data analysis skills.

Preferred qualifications

Educational qualification: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical & Electronics, Electronics and Communication engineering.

Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience/Masters with minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
