The impact you’ll make
As a Software Application Engineer at Lam, you’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation and adoption of our software products. You’ll support fast product evolution through agile processes by analyzing, designing, programming, testing, debugging, and enhancing software applications. With your expertise and initiative, you’ll turn ideas into great products that support advancements in Lam’s semiconductor technology.
In this role, you will have a significant impact on the innovation and efficiency of Lam's products and services. By developing enterprise grade software applications, you will enable data-driven decision making, optimize workflows, enhance user experience, and improve quality and performance of Lam's hardware and processes.
What you’ll do
- Implement DevOps maintenance and enhancement user stories as part of the Engineering Operations Scrum team
- Support CI/CD infrastructure both on-prem and in Azure Cloud
- Assist developers and QA engineers with day-to-day usage of CI infrastructure
- Support internal and external desktop and Cloud product releases
- Work with our central IT organization and local IT technician to address issues and coordinate IT
- infrastructure improvements
- Work with central InfoSec organization to remediate software application and OS vulnerabilities
- throughout the org
Who we’re looking for
- Years of Experience: 8-12 Years
- Education Qualification: B.E/B.Tech from Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering,
- Electronics, Electronics & Communication
- Proficient with source control tools, such as git, Mercurial (Hg), or Subvesion (SVN)
- Proficient in both Windows and Linux environments
- Proficient with one or more scripting languages, such as bash, batch, or Python
- Proficient with CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins, ADO, or TeamCity
- Proficient with source code managers, such as Bitbucket, Azure Repos, or Rhodecode
- Team player who enjoys supporting and working with others
- Systematic work style and excellent attention to detail
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes
- Experience with repository managers, such as Artifactory
- Understanding of IT and InfoSec requirements for DevOps systems
- Experience with cloud computing services, especially Microsoft Azure
- Experience managing virtual machines in a Hyper-V cluster
- Experience with gmake, scons or cmake
- Experience with integrating SAST and DAST tools, such as Sonarqube or Black Duck, into CI/CD pipelines
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years professional experience in development operations or similar role

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
