The impact you’ll make

Many years ago, Lam Research embarked on a journey to set up a global center in Bangalore to expand its reach for Indian talent pool. Over the decade, this center expanded its capability and scope beyond engineering to global manufacturing, supply chain operations and other shared services. One of the major functional groups of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and engineering support functions work collaboratively to design, develop sub-assemblies and sub-systems for Lam’s next-generation products. LIGHT has completed more than a decade of growth and has emerged as a major new product development and sustaining engineering team for Lam’s global engineering footprint.
There is an opening for the role of Lead Project Engineer. This position is based out of Bangalore, directly reporting to the leader of WETS (Wet Equipment Technology Solutions) Engineering Excellence Team (WEET) of LIGHT. This individual shall collaborate with engineers in India and United States on new product development of WETS product lines.

What you’ll do

• You will be owning projects/initiatives to develop, optimize and implement product/process improvement solutions which will aid in design and development of Lam Products.
• These projects/initiatives would be driven as part of continuous improvement in Product development lifecycle. Collaborate with both internal and external cross functional teams for project deliverables and goals, document and report project progress and results, communicate milestones and deliverables to stakeholders.
• Accountable for delivering on time with quality as part of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as well as consistent improvement in efficiency.

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s in mechanical & related Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in driving concurrent engineering projects involving Fluid systems & fabricated & Machined components/assemblies based on DFX skills.
• Experience in engineering excellence activities like problem reports, CIP, NSRs, 5D template and P&ID3D modelling and drafting of parts & systems as per the defined subsystem.
• Experience in Sheet metal design, joining and manufacturing processes.Experience in CAD tools like Creo/NX and Teamcenter.
• Experience in ECR/ECO/ECA processes and knowledge of PLM ProcessExposure in Plastic machining and joining (welding) processesExperience in OEM Components selection

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
