The group you’ll be a part of

There is an opening for the role of Project Engineer Lead in Etch Business Unit in India, to support engineering organization by coordinating budgets, training, tools, procurement activities, operational processes and by providing executive support. The position works closely with engineering teams and cross‑functional partners to enable smooth day‑to‑day operations and data‑driven decision‑making. This position will be based out of Bangalore.

The impact you’ll make

In this role, the individual will play a key role in enabling the efficient functioning of the engineering organization by managing operational coordination and providing executive support to engineering leadership. The role focuses on budget tracking, procurement coordination, training and tool governance, process improvement, and execution of administrative and planning activities for India Engineering leadership. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate across multiple stakeholders and priorities.

What you’ll do

  • Engineering Operations & Governance: Support execution and governance of engineering operational processes. Ensure compliance with organizational policies related to budgets, procurement, tools, and asset usage
  • Budget Management & Financial Tracking: Track engineering budgets and maintain spend vs. plan dashboards. Support forecast updates, variance tracking, and cost‑control initiatives. Compile financial data and reports for leadership reviews and planning cycles
  • Training, Software, Hardware, Engineering part procurement Coordination: Coordinate engineering training programs, enrollments, and completion tracking. Manage software license requests, renewals, and utilization tracking. Liaise with IT, HR, and Procurement teams to ensure timely fulfillment. Support hardware, lab, and asset requests, allocation, and lifecycle tracking. Support Engineering part procurement activities including purchase requests, approvals, and tracking and Ensure procurement processes and compliance requirements are followed
  • Process Improvement & Reporting: Build KPIs dashboards. Track operational KPIs related to cost, turnaround time, and compliance. Prepare periodic operational and management reports. Identify inefficiencies in engineering operational workflows. Support/Drive implementation of process improvements and standardization initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to engineering leaders. Manage meetings, agendas, and action‑item follow‑ups. Coordinate leadership meetings, reviews, and offsites (logistics, materials, minutes). Prepare presentations, reports, and summaries for executive forums.

Who we’re looking for

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/related Engineering), or related field
    • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in engineering operations, business operations, PMO, or executive support roles
    • Working knowledge of budget tracking, procurement, and operational processes
    • Experience supporting senior leaders or managers preferred

  • Analytical skills for trend analysis and dashboarding (Excel/Power BI)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and collaboration tools

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role.
