Project Engineer Lead

There is an opening for the role of Lead Project Engineer. This position is based out of Bangalore, directly reporting to the leader of WETS Engineering Excellence Team (WEET) of LIGHT. This individual shall collaborate with engineers in India and United States on new product development of WETS product lines.

As a Project Engineer at Lam, you're not merely managing projects - you're driving advancements integral to the design and development of Lam's products. Leading cross-functional teams, you'll steer the execution of engineering projects, leveraging your technical prowess and strategic insight to deliver enhanced products. Your focus on continuous improvement in the development lifecycle will be pivotal as you own project to optimize and enhance Lam's offerings.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for developing configurable options using the Product Option Architecture (POA) tool, ensuring accuracy of these options.
• Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) for product options
• Review and align BOM content with Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and product manager for all possible product options
• Coordinate with CFT to manage release process of product option changes
• Understand the engineering changes and create and submit the change orders
• Based on POA roadmap discussions analyze how product changes affect the existing content and drive the required engineering changes.
• Creation/redlines and maintenance of Visio document, BOM comparison, workflow, checklist document etc

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / automotive / industrial / production engineering with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience of managing product options with more than 10000 components
• Create and manage Bill of material (BoM). Experience in use of MS Excel for BoM management
• Experience in writing and executing change orders with expected accuracy
• Working experience in engineering change order implementation strategies for product options
• Working experience in VISIO application
• Creating Macros/VBA scripting using MS-Excel
• Problem solving and decision-making proficiency

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Team Center and PLM (SAP or e-Works or Oracle-aps etc..)
• Exposure on Engineering design and Mechanical CAD tools
• Exposure to Semi-conductor industry related Engineering activities
• Exposure to programming or logic-based language system
• Exposure on Data analysis

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
