The impact you’ll make

Lam Research is modernizing a set of legacy dashboards and desktop applications into a single, enterprise‑grade web platform. The new platform is built on modern software engineering practices, enterprise database architecture, and cloud technologies. We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a development team. This leader will be accountable for people leadership, technical direction, product evolution, engineering excellence, and team growth, while maintaining strong delivery velocity and alignment with Lam’s software development compliance and operational needs.

What you’ll do

Software Engineering Leadership

· Lead a multi-disciplinary team of backend, full‑stack, UI/UX, and data engineers.

· Build clear project plans and drive the team to delivery timelines

· Set clear technical direction while enabling teams to deliver efficiently.

· Establish and reinforce best practices for code quality, testing, and release management.

· Grow engineers through coaching, feedback, and mentoring.

· Establish strong engineering standards for code quality, automation, documentation, and delivery.

· Balance engineering rigor with development speed to deliver incremental value.

 

Product & Technical Leadership

• Own the technical vision, architecture, and evolution of the new Platform. • Drive platform decisions aligned to modern best practices in cloud, security, data, and

application architecture. • Ensure the platform continues to replace and exceed existing applications. • Translate OT business requirements into a clear technical roadmap.

Platform & DevOps Oversight

• Oversee delivery across DEV, QA, and PROD environments. • Enforce modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code. • Partner with infrastructure and security teams to ensure production readiness.

Governance & Compliance

Ensure the platform meets enterprise standards for reliability, security, and auditability.

Support reporting, traceability, and compliance needs through software design (not security operations).

Stakeholder Engagement

• Serve as the primary technical interface with global BU stakeholders. • Communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs clearly to leadership.

Technical Experience

· Cloud-native architectures (preferably Azure app services).

· Backend APIs and frontend frameworks.

· Backend web services using modern .NET

· SQL databases and reporting architecture.

· CI/CD pipelines for QA, DEV, Prod, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Blackduck, Artifactory

· Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

· Power Platform and Power BI experience.

Who we’re looking for

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.

  • 12–15 years overall experience,• 8-10+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years’ managing software development teams.

  • Knowledge of Azure cloud, automation tools, and monitoring platforms for OT environments.
