What you’ll do
- Develop and implement motion planning algorithms and trajectory optimization for robotic systems in semiconductor manufacturing environments
- Design and build computer vision systems for object detection, pose estimation, semantic segmentation to enable autonomous robotic operations
- Create perception systems integrating multiple sensors (cameras, LiDAR, force/torque sensors) with sensor fusion techniques
- Develop calibration procedures and tools for TCP, robot kinematics, hand-eye calibration etc.
- Build software frameworks and APIs for robotic control, including inverse kinematics solvers, collision avoidance, HMI etc.
- Implement path planning algorithms for complex assembly and maintenance tasks in constrained environments
- Conduct thorough testing and validation procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Design and conduct test experiments pertaining to the resolution of complex technical problems
- Implementation of DOE principles
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during all phases of the project lifecycle
- Generate clear and concise presentations and data driven reports to communicate engineering solutions and provide clear technical recommendations
- Acquire and apply basic engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems
- Act as liaison for cross-functional projects across multiple organizations with expertise in robotic path programming and computer vision
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in robotics software development
- Strong expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Path planning and motion planning for robotic manipulators
- Computer vision for robotics applications (object detection, pose estimation, segmentation)
- Sensor calibration techniques (hand-eye, tool center point, multi-sensor calibration)
- Proficient in C++ or Python for robotics applications
- Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) or ROS2
- Strong understanding of robotics fundamentals or computer vision theory
- Familiarity with robotics simulation tools (Gazebo, MoveIt, Isaac Sim, or similar)
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and collaborative software devaelopment practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with at least one of the following is a plus:
- Robotics simulation and planning tools (MoveIt, Gazebo, Isaac Sim)
- MLOps frameworks (MLflow, Kubeflow, or similar)
- Work experience with UR robots and URScript programming
- Experience with behavior trees for robotic task planning

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
