The impact you’ll make

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop high complex power distribution boxes for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Own and drive engineering projects to meet functional, performance, reliability, and cost requirements.
  • Make design decisions backed with strong engineering data in areas of component selection, packaging, thermal management, and compliance to standards.
  • Be the technical owner on engineering release via Engineering Change Management process
  • Collaborate with PG counterparts and global stakeholders to define engineering requirements for NPI projects
  • Provide immediate response and timely resolution to design related production issues encountered during the build process
  • Conduct Design review to get buy-in from all cross functional teams
  • Validate Design by defining test plans, making prototypes, developing test equipment and performing testing.

Who we’re looking for

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 12 exp. Or Masters in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10 Yrs Exp.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.
  • Highly proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, ProE, SolidWorks, and others.
  • Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus.
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge:

    1. Industry Standards and Regulations: Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to mechanical engineering, such as ASME, ASTM, and ANSI.
    2. Energy Efficiency: Understanding of energy efficiency measures and sustainable design practices.
    3. Safety Standards: Awareness of safety standards and practices to ensure safe design and operation of mechanical systems.
    4. HVAC Systems: Expertise in the design and operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
