The Idea to Retire (I2R) workstream within its digital transformation focuses on the full product lifecycle—from market feasibility, design, prototyping, build, test and validation, sustaining, to end-of-life.
To support this initiative, the company is seeking a Senior Technical Trainer to deliver comprehensive training programs for our product development team members as they adopt new systems and new ways of working. The role requires strong engineering knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring.
The impact you’ll make
As a Technical Instructor at Lam, you'll conduct dynamic technical training for customers and employees. You'll craft course content specifications and engaging lesson plans. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you ensure alignment with the latest product features. What you’ll do
- Collaborate with DT transformational change management (TCM), I2R, and functional teams to assess learning content.
- Deliver technical training tailored to the needs of our product development and engineering team members, which may include engineers, product managers, technical program managers, engineering change management, and any other team members impacted by systems and business process transformation.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and content creators to enhance training materials, including presentations, manuals, e-learning modules, and hands-on exercises.
- Deliver impactful, meaningful, and relevant instruction through a blend of classroom instruction, virtual training, workshops, hands-on sessions, and one-on-one coaching.
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, feedback, and performance metrics, and recommend improvements to enhance learning outcomes.
- Provide support and guidance to employees, helping them troubleshoot technical issues and apply their learning to real-world projects.
- Maintain training records and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
- Work closely with Change Management, TCM, I2R and other DT workstreams, and Organizational Learning and Development to ensure alignment and support for training initiatives.
Who we’re looking for
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics or Computer Science)
- Proficiency with Siemens Teamcenter PLM or similar lifecycle management tools.
- Strong grasp of high-tech R&D processes and engineering methodologies.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work across organizational boundaries and influence at all levels.
- A passion for continuous learning and professional development.
Preferred qualifications
- Advanced experience with Siemens Teamcenter, SAP, PlanView and 3D CAD (NX / Creo) tools.
- Experience working in complex product development environments with global technical teams, such as engineering and advanced research and development.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS), Cornerstone on-demand (CSOD) a plus.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Working experience with WalkMe tools or equivalent.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
