Position Title: Mechanical Hardware Designer (Level 25E)
Eligibility Criteria:
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 1–5 years of experience in mechanical / electromechanical component engineering, design support, or related areas.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Create and update 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings for mechanical/electromechanical parts.
- Support design changes by updating CAD data, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
- Participate in design reviews (PDR/DR) and incorporate feedback
- Assist in fitment, interference, tolerance, and basic design validation reviews.
- Maintain accurate part, assembly, and release data in PLM/PDM systems.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support component release and issue resolution
Mandatory Skills:
Mechanical
- Working knowledge of NX, Creo, or equivalent CAD tools.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical/electromechanical commercial off the shelf components
- Ability to create/update parts, assemblies.
- Understanding of BOM, CAD release, and engineering change processes.
- Awareness of Form-Fit-Function (FFF) concepts in component selection
- Basic understanding of design lifecycle and product development processes
- Strong attention to detail and learning orientation
Desired Skills:
- Exposure to PLM/PDM systems such as Teamcenter or Windchill.
- Awareness of DFM/DFA and common manufacturing processes.
- Basic knowledge of ISO, DIN, ASME, or SEMI standards.
- Familiarity with component lifecycle (qualification, obsolescence, alternate sourcing)
- Exposure to tolerance stack-up, fitment, or design validation activities.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- Exposure to cross-functional working environments

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
