The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

The impact you’ll make

Mechatronics product support engineer leading field teams for technical troubleshooting, scaling of autonomous maintenance robots

What you’ll do

    • Mechatronics engineer who will provide technical support to field process engineers, and product support personnel to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues on robototics system
    • Provide technical support for robotic systems at the customer site and troubleshooting to address technical challenges using DOE methodologies. Engage in robotic path programming and computer vision
    • Responds to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems related to process capability gaps
    • Supports customer new tool process qualification, training and BKM document creation
    • Take strong ownership of assigned tasks and projects, ensuring proper accountability from design to release of solutions
    • Train and lead other engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel
    • Works with cross-functional teams to get information and results needed
    • Work onsite in Bangalore India up to 3 to 5 days/week
    • 15 to 20% travel

 

Who we’re looking for

  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 4 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 1 years experience; or equivalent experience in Mechatronics, Robotics or similar field.

Preferred qualifications

  • Creative thinking, strong problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Experience with robotic hardware design and end effector application development.
  • Maintain and integrate robotic hardware and software components, ensuring seamless operation.
  • Program and control 6DOF robots, integrating sensors and actuators for optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot innovative end effectors.
  • Demonstrated understanding of CAD software such as Solidworks, NX, and Creo.
  • Proficiency in ROS, Python, SQL, OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and React.
  • Strong knowledge of network communication protocols and computer vision technologies.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
