Job Responsibilities
- This position is for the Manufacturing Engineering Department at Lam India, Bangalore, and closely working with Pilot & HVME Manufacturing engineers, test engineers, industrial engineers across global build facilities.
- Lead the development of electrical and electro-mechanical systems, including power distribution and control architecture for fixtures, outriggers, and test equipment
- Own and drive successful design reviews to get buy-in from all cross-functional teams & stakeholders for new design concepts.
- Provide technical leadership for sustaining engineering activities such as cable assy schematic and system interconnect schematics design, mistake-proofing of designs (e.g. poke-yoke of connectors, cables, etc.) and provide resolution to PRs.
- Develops functional specifications for electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
- Ensure compliance with design standards, schedules, and KPIs for quality and on-time delivery.
- Provide accurate and timely resolution to design related production issues encountered during the build process of fixtures, outriggers & test equipment.
Minimum Qualification
- Educational qualification: Bachelor/Masters in Electrical Engineering
- Years of Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience
- Proficient in system level understanding of Electro-Mechanical Sub-systems (Semi-conductor/Automotive/Aerospace), Power Distribution/Control systems and/or Industrial Automation.
- Strong experience in electrical component selection for power distribution and control systems, including devices such as MCBs, MCCBs, ELCBs, RCBOs, relays, contactors, SMPS, PLC modules (AI/AO, DI/DO, communication, etc.), and industrial sensors.
- Proven expertise in electrical system design from concept to implementation, including AC and DC power distribution box design, power supply design, and PLC-based control system architectures.
- Hands-on experience in cable harness design, including connector selection, wire and cable specification, cable routing, wiring diagrams, and drafting for power and control system interconnections.
- Ability to develop, interpret, and review electrical schematics and interconnect drawings, with a strong system-level understanding of power and control circuits.
- Proficiency in performing electrical calculations, including power and load calculations, thermal analysis, short-circuit current rating (SCCR), wire gauge selection, and cable bundle calculations to ensure safe and reliable power and control system design.
- Strong skills in electrical circuit design and analysis, with the ability to interpret schematics, analyze circuit functionality, and troubleshoot power distribution and control system issues in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience applying quality and risk management tools such as DFMEA, Problem Solving & Decision Making (PS & DM), 5-Why analysis, and IPC guidelines to improve reliability, safety, and manufacturability of electrical and automation systems.
Preferred Qualificaitons
- Knowledge and working experience in electronic circuit design and analysis, including the ability to interpret electronic schematics that support control systems and industrial automation architectures.
- Exposure to embedded system design for applications related to power distribution, control systems, and industrial automation, including integration with PLCs, controllers, or automation hardware.
- Experience with PCB design tools and workflows, including schematic capture, layout considerations, and design reviews for control and electronics assemblies.
- Familiarity with electrical and safety standards relevant to power distribution and industrial automation, such as NEC, NFPA 79, UL, IEC, and SEMI standards.
- Working knowledge of programming and automation tools, including PLC and HMI programming, Python scripting, and microcontroller-based system development to support control and automation solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
