Join Lam as an Electrical Engineer and you'll be at the forefront, designing and developing electronic solutions for advanced applications. Your role involves designing and analyzing equipment, conducting experimental tests, evaluating results to create reliable cutting-edge solutions.

There is an opening for the role of Electrical Technical Lead Engineer (Electrical Engineer 3) within the Customer Support Business Group (CSBG) of LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology) organization. This position will be based out of Bangalore and will closely be working with the Engineering & Cross functional teams across global regions of Lam Research like US & India. CSBG mainly focuses on delivering value to customers throughout the product lifecycle by providing Spares, Upgrades and services to maximize the value of customer capital assets.

This high energy individual will focus on development and support for Productivity and Technology Upgrades to our global customers through Engineering projects (EPLs/PPLs), for Dextro, Deposition and Etch product lines. Meet Corporate metrics and goals set to achieve excellence and deliver fast solutions to our global Customer. Also, collaborate with various global products and field support teams to address issues.

Educational Qualification & Relevant Exp. Guidance:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in electrical engineering or electrical & electronics engineering or electronics & communication engineering with minimum of 7-10 years of related experience; or master’s degree with minimum 5 to 8 years of experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing professional electrical engineering research, design, development, modification, tool upgrade and testing in support of electrical systems and / or power distribution and generations, down to the discrete circuit and PCBA level.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary engineering design team: electrical, mechanical, software/firmware, technical support, productivity engineers, and suppliers, on design, modification.
  • Selection of Electrical & Electronics OEM components and materials for Power distribution, I/O Controllers, bench top carts setup, Sensors, Motors, Cables, PCBs etc.
  • Creates electrical schematics and system based on requirements and creates/releases engineering drawings & bill of materials
  • Learning about strategic product issues from Level 28 & above and ensures team members compliance with PDR/DDR process and driving continuous improvement of systems, products, and processes. 
  • Learn Products, PDR processes & DFMEA principles and Owns PDR tasks/Simple sub-system/medium complex CIP/Medium complex designs using appropriate project management tools.
  • Outstanding analysis and proven trouble-shooting skills and ability to drive functional requirements & execute in a dynamic team environment
  • Mentors, coordinates & approves work executed from level 26 & below and coordinates with all stakeholders for work priorities/escalations

Mandatory skills and experience required to perform the job:

  • Proficient in Electrical & Electronic Circuit design with safety interlocks, circuit analyses/simulations, load analysis and familiar with latest industrial technologies
  • Hands-on experience in Low/High Voltage Electrical & Electronic circuit designs for Power and Control applications
  • Proficient in concept design and Hands-on experience in electronic circuit design (analog, digital), development and associated electrical board design, troubleshooting and validation required
  • Must have worked on any one of electrical/electronic engineering CAD tools like PCAD, ORCAD, ZUKEN, Cadence or equivalent CAD packages for circuit design & simulation.
  • Familiar with different design standards and compliances like – NEC, NFPA, UL 508, IEC standard, IPC 620/CID, SEMI Standard (Electrical)
  • Excellent collaborative, multitasking, communication, and presentation skills to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, internal and external partners

Desirable Skill:

  • Experience with capital equipment, Electrical control/Power box or similar (for e.g., process industries, aircraft, Robotics etc.) industry in a sub-system / module design project
  • Experience in selecting components, setting up equipment for experimentation, hands-on testing in laboratory environments with various equipment like multimeters, mixed signal oscilloscopes, analyzers to validate digital/analog signal integrity at PCBA level, setting up safe practices
  • Expertise in Engineering Change Management Process.
  • Knowledge about Robotics & Computer Vision preferred
  • Experience of power distribution and/or control system design of systems along with system level understanding of electrical architecture, IO Controllers, PLC and AC/ DC distribution
  • Good communication skills and experience of working in cross-functional teams in a matrix organization
