Many years ago, Lam Research embarked on a journey to set up a global center in Bangalore to expand its reach for Indian talent pool. Over the decade, this center expanded its capability and scope beyond engineering to global manufacturing, supply chain operations and other shared services. One of the major functional groups of this entity is LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology). In Hardware group, mechanical engineers, simulation analysts, electrical engineers, manufacturing engineers, and engineering support functions work collaboratively to design, develop sub-assemblies and sub-systems for Lam’s next-generation products. LIGHT has completed more than a decade of growth and has emerged as a major new product development and sustaining engineering team for Lam’s global engineering footprint.

 

There is an opening for the role of Electrical Engineering Technical Lead Engineer. This position is based out of Bangalore, directly reporting to the leader of WETS (Wet Equipment Technology Solutions) Electrical Engineering team of LIGHT. This individual shall collaborate with engineers in India, Europe and United States and on new product development of WETS product lines.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Bachelors in Electrical/Electronics Engineering with a minimum 8 exp. or Masters in Electrical Engineering with a minimum 6 Yrs Exp.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop complex electrical systems, sub-systems, and/or solutions, applying engineering methods to design.
  • Contributes to research and development efforts by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
  • Develops functional specifications for electrical/ electro-mechanical systems and power distribution components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
  • Perform hands-on test and validation utilizing lab equipment to characterization of the performance of the electrical/ electro-mechanical systems.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences in design reviews.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor for more junior colleagues.

Mandatory skills and experience required to perform the job:

  • Proficient in system level understanding of Electro-Mechanical Sub-systems (Semi-conductor/Automotive/Aerospace), Power Distribution/Control systems and/or Industrial Automation.
  • Proficient in Electrical/Electronic Circuit concept design & development with safety interlocks & various circuit analyses. (Circuit analyses include De-rating & Stress analysis, Power analysis & Logic compatibility analysis etc.)
  • Proficient in selecting Electrical/Electronic OEM components.
  • Expert level knowledge of Engineering change management & problem-solving skills
  • Must have worked on any one of electrical engineering CAD tools like PCAD, ORCAD, ZUKEN, Cadence or equivalent CAD packages for circuit design & simulation.
  • Familiar with standards like - UL 508, IEC 60947, SEMI S22, NFPA79.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in Semiconductor Wafer Fab Equipment (WFE) domain.
  • Experience in capital equipment or similar (for e.g., Semiconductor, Process industries, medical instrumentation, Automotive, Aerospace, etc.) industry in a sub-system / module design project.
  • Experience in setting up equipment for experimentation / testing in laboratory environment, setting up safe practices.
  • Good Communication skills and able to mentor junior engineers.
