WETS Deposition group at Lam India Global Hardware Technology (LIGHT) is hiring a Electrical program Lead Engineer for its product development engineering and product ownership team. This role plays a critical part in defining next‑generation electrical and controls platforms for wafer fabrication equipment.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Executes Electrical Engineering technical assignments, projects with primary focus on designing, developing, modifying Power distribution and Control Panels.
  • Understands the customer requirements, leads the concept development, prepares detailed schematic design, builds the product, and leads the validation of Power distribution and Control Panels.
  • Selects electrical OEM components (Circuit Breakers, Contactors, Relays, terminal blocks, cables, busbars, connectors, etc.) and materials for Power distribution / control panel design.
  • Creates electrical schematics for power boxes and system interconnects based on requirements received from cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Works closely with Cross functional team including Mechanical Engineering, Supply chain, Test Lab, Program Management and global stakeholders while delivering assignments and projects.
  • Creates and releases engineering drawings & bill of materials using Engineering Change Management process.
  • Provides corrective solutions for Problem Reports of varying complexities on power boxes from suppliers and customers.
  • Provides immediate response and timely resolution to design related production issues encountered during the product build process.
  • Works in a very dynamic and fast paced work environment by providing custom design solutions for non-standard customer requirements having frequent design updates.
  • Conducts gating design reviews to get alignment on design package from cross functional leaders.
  • Experience in setting up equipment for experimentation / testing in laboratory environment, setting up safe practices.

Mandatory Skills:

    • Proven hands-on experience on power boxes & control boxes in gathering requirements, designing, testing and implementing to high volume manufacturing.
    • Proficiency in assessing loading, performing SCCR calculations, thermal calculations, wire sizing, busbar designs, switchgear selection, etc. for power boxes and panels
    • Proficiency in handling multiple configurations, logic for EMO, LOTO Concept, multiple power inputs and outputs.
    • Hands on experience in creation of electrical schematic diagram, control panel facility connections & field disconnects.
    • Must have worked on electrical engineering CAD tools like E3 ZUKEN or equivalent CAD packages for circuit design & simulation, form board flattening for EE documentation.
    • Experience with executing & reviewing FMEA, structured Investigation, Problem Solving & Decision Making.
    • Good understanding of different standards and compliances like – NEC, NFPA 79, UL 508A, IEC standard
    • Proven leadership & mentoring skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Experience: Bachelor’s in electrical/Electronic Engineering with 10-12 years or master’s in electrical/electronic engineering with 8-10 years

Desirable Skills:

  • Exposure to DFX for Power Boxes/panels
  • Experience in Semiconductor Wafer Fab Equipment (WFE) domain.
  • Experience in capital equipment or similar (for e.g., Semiconductor, Process industries, medical instrumentation, Automotive, Aerospace, etc.) industry in a sub-system / module design project.
  • Experience in leading module-level ownership from concept to production
  • Experience in setting up equipment for experimentation / testing in laboratory environment, setting up safe practices.
  • Proficiency in working with control & simulation tools preferably MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems is added advantage
